What kind of chair do you have at your desk?
« on: February 11, 2007, 03:24:20 AM »
just out of curiosity, what kind of chair do you have?

I personally spend a TON of time at the PC, and have decent chairs... yes chairs, I have 2. one for my "main" use, and a backup for a friend, or to use some times for a different feel.

both are herman miller

chair 2:

what doi you spend hours sitting on?

*side note
I have VERY expensive chairs in the home use sense, as chair 1 discount price is $800 and chair 2 is $665 though I personally know an office furniture service manager, and got hella deals on both. I paid $200 for the chair 1, and $45 for chair 2 at an office closing of a local "arthur anderson" branch closing after the enron scandal (yeah me!)

I have a beat up old wooden chair(have to glue every now and then) from a dining room set.

I have a battlechair.

It is installed with speakers that translate sound into feeling.  Has a huge subwoofer mounted on the back of the chair.  Has adjustable arms that feature HOTAS pads on the front of each arm rest.

I use a LazyBoy recliner. For AH I just use some bailing wire, gaff tape and two door stops to disable the rocker function.

I started having problems with a bulging disk in my lower back last fall.  About that time some research came out that concluded that a 45 degree recline position was the best for relieving strain on the lower back.  I really couldn't justify dropping a grand on an Aeron, so I checked out the local Office Max.  The Sealy Posturepedic Leather Executive had the necessary recline and other adjustments, and was only about $200.  My only real complaint is that it could use a bit more padding in the tail bone area.  But my back doesn't hurt any more.

I have one similar to the pics above. However the padding is so flat it gives me piles. I have to sit on a pillow when I fly. I save it for my brother to sleep with when he visit. I tell him its the water the laundry is washed in.
