More than I cared ..I was in 2nd Arm. Dv. 1986-88 , alot of field time with the Mech. / Armored Units .. in 91  switched MOS and went ADA , went to school at Bliss ..those terrain / mtn . pics are dead ringer for Bliss . Now Im back in the Guard , just finished my 3rd School  ( Fire Support Specialist )
now my Unit that I'm with is gearing up for its 2nd ( my 1st ) deployment  to either Iraq or Afghanistan . prolly 1st Q of 08 .

Here are some more with commentary by VWE:

the tent I moved into when I first got here, made me think of M.A.S.H.

standard up armored HUMV, this is the tank of HUMV's and can withstand a 155mm shell exploding 3 feet from it.

a palace about 1/4 mile from my trailer.

my trailer when I moved here, my stuff is on the left. Not much space but a little privacy goes a long way.

a Rino up armored bus. If you have to travel to another base that is within 20 miles or so this is your transportation. It will withstand up to an RPG and keep rolling.

you gotta have fun!

an engineer vehicle they use to remove known I.E.D.'s and is probably the toughest vehicle in theatre.

me and my radar.

The over exposure is due to the desposible camera I bought over here, I'm sure it got heat damage.

The second palace picture is where Uday and Kusay, Saddams sons, made their final stand. I think the exchange went something like this:

"Knock, knock... GO AWAY!    knock, knock...   i said GO AWAY!!      KNOCK, KNOCK!   WHAT?!? WHAT IS IT YOU WANT??  Tow missile! HA!  :D

The hummer on its back, look to the lower left, that is blood, or some type of transmission fluid.
i hope for the latter.

Thank you for your sacrifice.

Just water... had a couple 5 gallon cans on the back. No real damage done just scared the ba'geebee's outa the turret gunner. That's why you do alot of training before you leave so at the slightest inclination of a roll over the two back seaters reach up and pull the gunner inside. It was a good wakeup call and makes everyone stay focused on where they are at, what they are doing and what is around you.

O.k. I've added a few vidoes of a little of my R&R, its starting to cool off just a tad. I've not posted or even taken any new videos or pictures from here in a while cause it so dang hot out.

You don't have to have a myspace account in order to watch the videos but you do to see the pictures. But the videos give you a good understanding of where I'm at...

Yeah, I served 4 years as a squid too... and though I'm Army I'm actually attached to the Navy in Baghdad. Don't think about that one too hard or you'll blow a fuse...
