I think your a bit confused.... you may use wireless in your home... at which point your not running at 100mbps. What is your connection to the outside world.

By the way.. wireless is not the premium way to hook up a network.. but it keeps you from having to run hard wire through your home if it was not built in.

Ahhh before you start throwing bricks in glass houses I'd suggest some research. As above, you are using TCP, and wireless is not as stable as a wired connection - it is subject to all sorts of interference problems.

"Wireless" is a Network Connection, not an Internet connection.

What type of Internet Connection do you connect via wireless to?

Couple questions, as you made almost no sense in what you posted.

most of the time  it said server problem
There ARE no messages in game that say anything about a server.  So please explain exactly what you mean.

It WILL say LOST UDP SWITCH TO TCP which means you have a problem somewhere between your computer and AH that caused you to lose your UDP connection to the AcesHigh server (which is bad).

some of the planes/trucks/jeep/tanks/ect ect I do not have the option to be able to use some planes/tanks/bombers require "perk points" to be able to fly them.  You earn perks by blowing stuff up (planes, tanks, buildings etc).

Also, if you are at a TANK base, you can't use planes.  Sometimes at the field you are at, the enemy destroys the Vehicle/Fighter/Bomber Hangers and you are unable to use a Vehicle/Fighter/Bomber until they repair (15min ish).

AcesHigh has a most wonderful Help Section.  This Forum has a Help-Training section.  Use it.  AcesHigh has a Trainers Corps that really can help a new player figure out what they are doing.

This is a tough game to learn.  You won't get "good" in a week.  Or a month.  Or probably a year.  Hence the appeal.  We have players that have flown this, or other similar WW2 flight sim's for decades and are still terrible (y'all know who ya' are).  The learning curve is QUITE steep, but it's well worth it.

Trainers@flyaceshigh.com  email the trainers and setup some time for some 1 on 1 training.

(edit: and wireless is a HORRIBLE way to connect to whatever internet connection you use.  The new Wireless N standard is getting better, but wired is still the way to go)

And wireless is generally less secure than wired networks.  I can fire up my laptop and access 4 out of 9 of my neighbor's networks from the house.  I checked once and found 34 unsecured networks on the 6 mile drive from house to my college one time (at band camp...).

Also Cable (which is often just a neighborhood "network") is generally a little less secure than DSL, due to exposure to other unsecured computers on the network.  Cable throughput tends to vary more due to how many people are on that network, where DSL is more predictable, so the cable speeds listed are usually higher than the throughput you'll actually experience.

I'd rather run the cable plant in the house and not have to worry about the folks "wardriving" out there, and I'd rather run DSL so joker down the street's computer problems don't effect my throughput, or open mine up to more attacks than what I have to put up with anyways.

Having a dedicated Router with a Firewall is also a good idea in addition to the device used to connect to the internet.

I've got a wireless (WAP) for my network, on a DMZ, for working out on the deck and such, since it IS convenient at times, but I don't leave it powered on, and only my two laptops have authorization to use it by MAC address..... but it usually stays powered off.

It could be if he is using the neighbors.....

Just a thought.
Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine.

lol

even w/ that scenario the Wireless is only a Gateway to his neighbors Internet Connection.

Guys, please be very careful about what you're talking about. Just because you haven't heard of or seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I use to have wireless broadband in Illinois and it was a 100mb connection to the modem/antenna on a 1500/1500 wireless system. I only got the high speed because I was right on top of their main antenna.

http://www.db3broadband.com/equipment/index.htm

Now, if this is the type of connection rcguyme is talking about I can say from experience it's usually very stable. BUT, in very heavy snowfall or rainfall it can slow WAY down causing the switch to TCP. If your provider offers private speed/performance tests, and this happens again run them. You'll most likely find a problem on your provider's end. At least that's what I always found and they were always quick to repair the problem.

Also, if there is a heavy load on the tower you're pointed at it will cause a slow down and lost packets on your end causing the switch to TCP. Your provider can also tell if this is the case and either allocate more bandwidth to the tower or point your antenna to a tower with less of a load on it.

The inability to use certain planes, etc could be because of the arena you're in. The early war arena is limited to early war planes. Mid-war is mid war planes. Late war has all planes/vehicles available. If you get a message saying you can't fly a plane with a value less than 10 (or any other number), it means side balancing is in effect and there are too many players for your country in the arena.
