take any shot you want...gun solution is gun solution...

if the guy who is gonna whine about a HO doesnt want to be HO'd he can:

1.     FLY AWAY (but that would take patience and discipline so it becomes YOUR responsibility to fight like he wants you too)

2.     FLY A PLANE THAT CAN WIN A HO (but that would mean not using a early war popcorn shooting machine and setting convergences at distances that dont favor close angles shots..so that too is inconvenient and how dare you not fly like he wants you too)

3.      FLY  WITH A WINGMAN SO THEY CAN TAKE TURNS MAKING YOU MANEUVER SO YOU CANT HO THEM  (but that is inconvenient and would require making friends or being part of an organized group...so how dare you force them to not be individualists)

4.       NOT FLY DIRECTLY AT YOU AND EXPECT YOU NOT TOO SHOOT (but alas that is inconvenient and if he tries to break one way or the other you will achieve positional advantage and then you would shoot him down from behind and heavens then he couldnt whine at you easily...so just forget that idea mister)

5.       HE COULD ALSO REALIZE THAT THE MA IS NOT A DUELING ARENA AND QUIT INSISTING ON 1v1'S AND SITUATIONS WHERE HIS EXPERTISE WILL DOMINATE (but that would require a level of insight that we should not expect of veterans...)

:lol  :lol

Cheeseball crap from a vet!   What a load!  Geesh, Mike, why not just get everyone to think HO's are cool!  I'm sure it would make the game greater if everyone just HO'd everything in sight!  Hogwash!

Your missing my point Mark...point is nobody ever has to be in a position to get Ho'd  (true furball situations aside).  The truth is that most guys fly right at other guys and then get upset when bullets come at them.

No I get ur point, I am calling it a load of crap!  I merge from frontal everytime I see a con, 9 out of 10 the guy is spraying away at d-1000, very, very, very rarely do I get hit but I think it is cheap, lame, and takes no skill to fly at someone guns blazing!  Most every time the guy passes me and then doesn't know what to do except run because he missed.  It makes for very poor and pathetic gameplay!  Learn to fight and the need to HO will completely dissappear from your bag of acm's!

What if....you fly around like a poosie and won't fight without someone there to help you and then after repeated dragging your attacker to "friendlies" and they won't help you so you then decide to run as fast as you can to your field ack calling on everyone and anyone to HO, ram do whatever it takes to get this skeeeeeeery bad guy off of you because your virtual life is waaaay to valuable to put on the line in a 1v1.(that might just be the longest sentence in history)

Do you still have the right to not be called a poooosie?:D

It's my $14.95.  I'll HO you everytime if I want to.  Stop trying to make me fly the way you want me to fly.

Bascially what it comes down to in AH, is folks take the HO shot.

Were it can be frustrating is when it's all a person does.  HO and run, HO and run.

I've reached the point where I expect the HO shot when I'm merging with someone, and if it doesn't happen the heart races a bit more cause I know that guy wants to see if he can out fly me (which isn't hard).  I know it's going to be fun either way cause it's going to be a challenge to survive.

To be honest, I am seeing a lot less HO shots being taken lately.

That being said, I know I'm getting better at snap shots that are front quarter shots in a dogfight.  I imagine those can look and feel like a HO even though from where I'm sitting the hits rake the plane from top of the engine to the cockpit.

In the end I've quit worrying about getting HO'd.  If it happens, it means I didn't duck in time.

I am thankful that it is occuring less and less however and that folks seem to be wanting to test their ACM first.

:aok  whenever i am engaging a con 1v1 i always merge head on, thats just where my training is at the moment, in the TA and DA all my moves have been practiced from head on merges, the thought of a HO never even crosses my mind, and i try to look on the positive side of every engagement and the fact this guy might want to duke it out and im looking forward to seeing what hes got, and what i have in my bag.

but like u said i do get frustrated when i get vis on a dot, and he sees me, we both dive slightly to get E (atleast that is what it looks like) so i get all excited and prepare for a fight, then he just blows by my reversal guns blazing and if he misses heads for the deck

in those cases i just bang my desk then climb back out

guppy if u ever vis a spit8 (fav ride atm) coming at you, dont forget to turn your pace maker on :aok

I not once said for you to fly the way I want you to!  Can you comprehend the written word???  I called it pahtetic gameplay!  You can do what you want, but if you try HOing me, I am going to call you a cheapshot, skilless moron, who couldn't hold my jock in a 1 vs 1 fight, hence  your reason for twitting around HOing everyone!
