murder vs killing whats the difference
« on: February 28, 2007, 12:02:10 AM »
To me, murder is when you cold heartedly kill a human being in the USA, even someon who deserved it.  On the other hand killing is when you go to a foreign country to shoot an entire family in their vehicle as they run from a war. A war in the name of false facts. Anyone care to debate?

I am inspired to wit:

How many roads most a man walk down
Before you call him a man ?
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand ?
Yes, how many times must the cannon balls fly
Before they're forever banned ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Yes, how many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea ?
Yes, how many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free ?
Yes, how many times can a man turn his head
Pretending he just doesn't see ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Yes, how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky ?
Yes, how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry ?
Yes, how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Murder is killing a human being.

Killing is the purposeful act of ending the life of a homo sapiens.

I dont get it, whats with the second post?

If someone had snuck onto type_char's account and posted the first message, why didn't type_char, who had regained control of his account to make the second post, edit the first post?

His other personality wouldn't let him because that half of his brain is tied up in the basement waiting for Rocco to come home. Ouch!

What if the life itself was an accident...  Would that make a murder not murder?

What if you really really really meant it.  Like it was some sort of cause or higher calling.  Would it matter if the other guy wanted to kill you but just didn't have the chance?

Or what if the other guy really really wanted you dead, and you were pretty much ambivalent about the whole thing, but you killed him before he got the chance to kill you or someone else.

Is it murder, killing someone else just because they wanted to kill you?  Or does it make you BOTH murderers, since you never would have killed him if he didn't want to kill you first?  Or does that make it a murder-suicide?  Because if so, a lot of people are gonna get busted because it's against the law to assist suicide.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.
