i agree 73, i have actually flown with a few of the "o" guys, never dallas though, he's a panzy, but thats my opinion, anyways, they do have some decent guys on their squad too bad they all hang out with that idiot. i have to admit though, my favorite "o" guy is oACBo, he's cool guy, winged with him many times and had a blast. also he makes good bait <>

seriously, we cant judge the rest of their squad for the actions of one or two bad apples. just my 2cents :)

Very true. Only 2 of them including the guy you mentioned has tried to be "clever" with me. The rest of them have never whined or said a word to me. :)

well...ur meaning of " clever " and my meaning of "clever" maybe 2 different things...i mean, for example, i talk smack on 200 too..NEVER TAKE ANYTHING I SAY SERIOUSLY...but does that mean i'm a bad person and makes my squad bad? i only got luv PM's from dallas...(still wont go to the DA with me). dallas goes overboard though, his PM's rn't just in fun, he's really just bein a &$@&$@#$#&$ :p

200 is a hoot!  Someone smacktalking over 200 at least has some guts....rather than the coward smacktards that only smack via pm.

You ever get one of those guys who just can't give up with the pm's?

*white text* n00b!!!!!111!11!one!!eleven!1
*white text* I hate you long time
*white text* Your teh stupidestest person ever
*white text* You ruined my 1337ness
*white text* I'm telling my mommy

and on and on...  All the while I'm laughing so hard Dr. Pepper is threating to erupt from my nose.  After about 5 or so minutes...I grew weary and  squelched.

Makes you wonder about how those people behave in real life.  :huh

A little respect and self control can go a long way
« Reply #53 on: April 19, 2007, 03:13:17 PM »
I agree with a lot of comments here. The chat on 200 can be quite entertaining to read, even though sometimes it seems to go a little far. When I recieve a , win or lose, it does remind me that there is a respectable person controlling that other cartoon plane, and makes my experience that much more enjoyable.

But a certain person has pushed the limit of harmless trash talk, and I would like an opinion on the matter. Here's the scenario, name ommited due to issue:

Myself flying alone out of quiet field to help fight off base cap.
Along the way, spot high con incoming to field.(myself thinking tasty bombers).
Change course to investigate, find lonely 109 or 190 (cant remember).
High con dives, I turn to avoid. He misses and extends.
I give chase for a bit, then think he's heading home, so I head back to intended destination.
He then returns, and tries same tactic.
I again avoid, but this time I am able to reverse and get on his 6 about 400 out. ( by this time we are close to deck).
Since I am now on his six, he now intentionally puts it in the dirt.

There's the "fight", now here's what follows:

I get a private vox message stating something to this effect:

"You know cutting throttle like that is going to get you in trouble. Me and my friends are going to find and kill you. Good Luck."

Now that statement could have been taken in game, or out of game. That is the issue here.

Now for one thing, you can type on 200 and call me every swear to sunday, and it is never taken personally. It is a game after all. but to vox something like that to someone seems a little over the line. Now this person has vox'd me before, but usually picking on what I choose to fly, or how I fly it, ect. But this particular vox, in my opinion, is on borderline of report. I'm a grown man, so I, myself, feel no threat whatsoever from this, but I know that there are plenty of younger folks as well as old, and I would hate to have someone of the younger generation get this message and really feel in danger.

Any opinions?

Sounds like the guy is an idiot.  Squelch him (can you squelch vox? Never tried) and forget about him, life is far too short to let a game tard upset you.

Smack is fun.  I'm not very good, so I usually don't participate in it...but I get a big hoot out of people trying to smacktalk me on 200...  It's usually the lamers, you kill them or they auger...they'll call you a stick stirrer or some other generic insult to try to mask their ineptitude.

If squelching him and ignoring him doesn't work, or if it gets "too far" I'd email one of the admins.  He's probably just trying to rattle you, because you beat him and hurt his ego.

Smack on 200 is fun, personal message smack is kinda lame, personal vox smack is the lamest of them all.

There is already this BBS to talk the talk. IMO the game is meant to walk the walk.

I thank you for the comments.

It's not like it really upsets me, sometimes I want to find him just to see what he's going to say next. :lol

The jumping in on vox can be annoying, I admit, but my concern is that if he takes the vox comments that far, how far will he really go?

It's not a whine or anything by any means, I actually got a chuckle out of it chattin with squaddies, and it was forgotten about. But once in a while it would come back into my mind thinking "I can't believe he actually did that." So i'm just hoping he doesn't "overstep the bounds" and really do something stupid.

When I play, I know there are people at the other end of those planes, and I try to treat them the way I expect to be treated. Now on 200, I am guilty of complaining about HO's or taunting the runaway pony just like many others. If I do the same, go ahead and trash talk me. Call me dweeb, or "anal orifice" or "richard cranium" (polite way of putting things, lol). And once that is over, ya get a chuckle, salute each other, and move on.

I'll tell the good sticks they are PITA's, because I know they're better, they know they're better, and it's my way of acknowledgment of "stop shooting me down and go for someone else" :)

But back to the reason of the post, is not for me, but thinking about how it could affect the rest of our community. Kinda like trying to stop a bar fight before it starts. ;)
