Just a heads up but the thrustmaster Fox 2 usb is the closest thing to MSPP2 that ive ever used , and i went threw alot since MS quit making them (BASTAGES) . I was so used to the PP2 ( used pp1 and 2 for almost 10 years)  that i still can't play like i used to with any other stick .

Krusty

I have at current count 4 of the older Precision Pro Sidewinders with the dome type throttle & gameport. Wife keeps finding them at the secondhand store for 2$ and brings them home. Want one? The ones I've plugged in were all in near new condition, everything still crisp & clean.

I also have a pair of Precision 2 USB sticks. This is my current preferred stick.
Got the last one off eBay for 28$ including shipping just for a spare.
I prefer the throttle/button setup, and its USB so its easy.

Just do regular U.S. Postal, i'd be happy to re-emburse you for shipping.

No need, its the least I can do for what you are doing.

Also on the Saiteks, the X-52 is much larger then the X-45s and its adjustable on top of that. Mine has held up very well but it seems like thats hit and miss.

The only drawback is that the saitek is pretty large.  The stick itself is tall and takes a BIT of getting used to, but no biggy.

Also - the Hats on both of these sticks (ms and saitek ) need a piece of sandpaper glued onto their hats.  I haven't done it on the ps33 yet as I haven't had a chance (and my rc glue is all dried up yet less than a year old!).

The ms stick with the sandpaper piece placed on the tip of the hat really helped me.  I expected it to get worn out quickly but 3 months later it really still was just fine.  Although I didn't fly every night or anything.

The Saitek WILL benefit from a sandpaper piece glued on, because the bottom thumb portion resting on the upper view or whatever you use it for, will cause the top portion of the thumb to need a bit more traction.  At first, I hated the stick because of this - now that I use it as part of the integrated hat function - be it intentional or not : this was the BEST thing they could have come up with.

Ghost thanks, but it's not needed yet. Mine still works fine for the most part. I was just curious if (when the time comes) there was any benefit to getting the USB version.

Not really a lot of difference.

I prefer the Prec 2 USB's button layout on the stick better, easier to use.

Throttles are actually about a tossup, no big advantage either way.
