I have spend most of my time this tour so far in EW.
Even now the arena is pretty much full of n00bs and devoid of "veteran players" most of the time. Stuffing all the new players into an otherwise empty arena with all the will not help at all. They won`t learn but errors and misconceptions will be reinforced. For a "healthy" game, mix newbies & veterans, segregation won't help.

I have also a big problem with letting people pay but not enter the arenas were all the other players are...

I've been in the game for over a year now, and I know the guys or girls in here that have the skills. Helbent is one of those guys, and doesn't need to cheat to get a kill.
People get so wrapped up in this game that if things don't go their way,
their first thought is that the other guy is cheating. I know this because i had a long list of people, ( alot of witch are is this thread , that I just knew were cheating. But as time went on I realized that they are just good .
I salute you uber dudes because every time you kill me I learn a little something along the way.

what Skyrock is referring to isnt "that" hard to do, providing you have the source code for the game, which I would say HTC won't put in the public domain.

Not so sure how easy or hard it is to do by making your own standalone program but I reckon it really wouldn't be worth the effort!

No endless runs in la7's or HO everything in sight in nik.

Make scores for it a separate issue, like a rookie leader board. This would give incentive for the new player to fly there.

You can dance around the situation all you want but it will not bring you any closer to where you need to be, which is a skilled fighter pilot. What you need is training by someone who actually knows how to own! I have offered you training and will again do so in this post! When would you like to start your lessons??

The only problem is, that no-one would go there. Why? simple. How long do you think it would take for this beginners' arena to be labeled the newb arena, with the accompanying slur,and how soon all the incoming players would want to save their ego's by not going in to this place.

Your thinking about the 13337 !!!11!!! unthinking types.
A person who actually thinks for a minute, would understand you'd learn to handle you AC better in a fight. If the fight were to last longer, IE with equally skilled pilots. Instead of the one turn merge poof of the MA .

I think the adult noob to AH would truly welcome this type of arena.

True, Bronk- but, I'd like to point out, that we already have the TA, which is staffed with veteran pilots to teach acm, and it only sees what? about 10% of people new to the game? The other 90% seem to skip it and go straight to the MA's.

Thats because they're given the option, and they all think that they're experts because they've flown IL2 a few times and they don't need to learn.

Plus 90% of the n00bs that come in here see that add on TV showing the B-24, P-51, and 190D and jump straight into the LW and into the runtard rides without having anyidea how to fly them.

Case in point- about once a day I hear a complaint along the lines of "How can he out-turn me, my plane is faster" or "how did he light my bombers on fire with a P-47, you can't kill bombers unless you have cannons"

The TA is a good learning environment for sure.
But a true noob arena would good place to apply what you learned.

IMHO
The no damage TA just loses a bit of the "sweaty palm" effect, knowing you can't be shot down.

I just think it would make a nice transition for the noobs, intelligent enough to utilize it.

In stead of trying out you new found merge technique on a multi year vet.
You get to try it out a similarly skilled player. With a clear and definite outcome.
No guessing who put more rounds into who.
