Jack Benny may be the only one in his league. His stuff is just as funny today as it was new. Interesting that Brook's only true remake was one of the few films Benny did.

Blazing Saddles has to be my favorite all-time-completely-anti-PR totally inappropriate comedy movie of all time.  You could NOT make that movie in this day and age.

Had a copy of it in Iraq that got smuggled around like the radio in "Stalag 17".  One of those movies the touchie-feely types did not want to hear about for "heath and welfare" or other nonsense reasons.

He's likely the only one who could get away with the old bathroom humor and gags that others wouldn't touch. He is IMO one of the leading comedic genious folks ever to work the trade.

His work is one of 2 that I know of that you can post a quote of, and others will be able to respond with more and continue the thread. Monty Python is the only other works that can do that almost instantly.

Blazing Saddles & Young Frankenstein are my Brooks Faves. I liked Space Balls OK, but was never drawn to the others as much.

Wasnt there a "history of the world part 2"?

I'd like to get copies on DVD of Saddles & Frankenstein-
