I do miss those old storm fronts.  I remember having to redirect my b17 at times because the original target was weathered in with cloud cover.  Some maps do have areas with cloud cover, but nothing like those dark storm fronts we used to have.

AKAK had it right.

Some quotes from HiTech
*We make a game around WWII planes and vehicles. We do not try to simulate WWII. Simulation of WWII is one of CT's goal's.

*The game was designed to have fun at different types of combat. Conquering bases is just a means to promote combat and hence fun. But by no means is it more or less justified than going out and just mixing it up.

Where does our banner in anyway contradict what I have said. In fact we choose those words very precisly to not give the impression we were a simulation of WWII.

Other wise instead of saying the Preimer WWII combat experiance, we would have said the Preiemer WWII simlation.

I liked the weather HT use to dial up for us in the MA.

But just reading all of the negative comments illustrates why weather is missing from the MA.

I still think a winter map is overdue!

Ok....we could probably argue definitions of phrases, perception of Phrases and the symantics behind them all night long...regardless of all that:

1-The game is a blast
2-I have fun, (mostly getting blown out of the sky), but fun none the less.
3-HT does a wonderful job.

End of Story.

Current weather settings are just fine.  As someone said the cloud is set in the terrain and some of the ones that have been up recently have had large varying levels of cloud.

In another game i played for 5 years before AH they thought that cloud would be a good idea.  This cloud was a non stop blanket of thick cloud over the whole arena with one that was like from 10k  to 16k solid.  It was stupid and droves of players either logged or worked to reset it ASAP.

I do recall visualing a rope within the cloud and using padlock and sound effects to come down and kill the guy.  He followed me up vertical into the cloud the stall, dive and shot all performed with a complete white screen.

Seeing a nice blue sky is just great.  Trust me.

I'm up most evenings for a couple of hours in the LW arenas between 8 and 11 PM Central (prime time).  The Baltic map is particucarily prone to 2 massive furballs but most suffer from it (tank town map, uterus map, etc.). I'm Bish and it seems we get one on each side to choose from.  Not always but all too often in my opinion.

BTW, a squaddie and I were on the new round map last night (is that small pizza?) and ran into low level fog along the coast-line.  Both our frame rates dropped to 7 as we dropped into it.  We flew away to find another place to fight.  If that's the way it is I'd rather not have it.

Ack-Ack... Oops, my mistake, I meant AH I.  Evidently my mind is going as I get older

Leadership is   the ability to offer choices.

If the crowd wants a Game with rules and a set predictability give them
their 5 miles bases and remove the Real About it ! Some people like to
die ten times in 30 mins. under 5K... Arcade. With rules... enter problems !
and the unending posts to air these problems, not to mention all the
radio whinning. Rules and set conditons enhance the Game style of play
for skilled gamers by enhancing their survivability factor.

If the crowd wants Real ! then make it so. Weather  yes its real.
Continuous changing conditions at any time anywhere, Yes thats real
too. What can happen...did happen.  Without Rules... no problems
The radio bar is now Quiet. Some want it as Real as possible, as to
appreciate what it may have been like to fight in the great War. For
them its not fun if the outcome is too every day predictable.
