You must demonstrate the proper handshake before we can divulge the secrets of the C2.

P.S. Just landed 16 kills in one in one of the LWAs (Orange I think). New Krusty record!!

A "Krusty" record?:lol

Tips for the C. 205: Take 100% gas, get alt, dive and run.

Er... it doesn't dive that great (it will compress)... and it doesn't run that fast (most will out-run it)... It does a lot of things well, but no one thing great. It turns fairly well, but don't use the flaps they don't help much if at all.

It's very short legged. As bad as a spitfire. Take 100% always. NEVER ever take less. Not even for base defense hops.

If you take the C202 up it has the same gas storage but a weaker engine so it has more range, in THAT plane you can take 75%, but I'd suggest never going below this.

The guns are nice, but they are MG151/20s. If you're not used to LW guns, aim a little high until you get it. The head position moves up nicely, so you can reposition it for high angle under-the-nose shots.

Snapshots are nice, but sometimes you just have to pound the SOB repeatedly until he dies.

So fly it timid at first, then get more aggressive. Then when you get too aggressive and start spinning out and popping flaps, ease up a bit, and you should be good to go.

Well....

The C205 is a pig.  It has very nice guns - 500 cannon shells is nothing to sniff at - but it can't turn and it can't roll and it compresses in a dive, so it is a pig.

Now the C202 is a true gentleman's airplane.  It is light as a feather, climbs well, turns well, retains its energy.  It has just one weakness, which, as many gentlemen will agree, is best spoken of quietly...

...it is impotent...it needs Viagra in its guns...

So..the art is in the chase.  You must use all of your skills to cleverly maneuver yourself into just the right position at the proper moment, taking every advantage of your opponent's ego, and then, with a smooth caress and a throbbing follow-through, you maximize all you have, and fire until you are empty.

I suggest setting covergence at 200, take no shot beyond that.

202 v 205:

202 turns better a bit, 680 yards vs 720 yards if I recall.

205 is 20mph faster

205 accelerates a helluva lot faster

205 has markedly improved climb rate (breaking 4000fpm below 5k)

205 has the 20mms with 500 rounds. Seems like a lot, but you can waste a lot trying to get a kill.

So while the 202 does turn better, don't discount the E-fighter that is the 205. It can blow E and regain it better, both in level flight and in climb. With its greater horsepower it can also zoom and loop better, and only takes a second to kill, vs 5-15 seconds in the C202.

I've flown both of them a lot. Just today I landed 16 kills in a 205. This tour I've also landed 12 kills in a 202 (yep! Got the landing on film, but not the sortie). Of the two, the 205 is a much more capable fighter. Think of it like the a6m2 vs the a6m5. Faster, better armament, better climb, speed, just doesn't turn as tight, but still quite the capable fighter.

All, of course, in my opinion.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong.

1.)  It doesn't compress.
2.)  You have ALL forgot a secret to unlocking the potential of the 205.   That is BURN THE WINGS TANKS FIRST.   It will roll with 190's, and turn very good.

It is a VERY effective fighter.

The 205 is a pig only in dweeb's hands. It rolls well and dont compress too much at high speeds ... you'll eat every 109 trying to escape nosing down.

Sure, its not a Hog or a 190 but it does good at high speeds against many other a/c. If you dont mix too much with the turn and burn crowd, then its a wonderful mid arena fighter. His punch is more than enuff to hunt bombers up to 20K+.

Wonderful early 1943 fighter, awuful graphics so far, tho.

Heya Kusty, howdy!

The C2’s are fun planes, but they don’t do anything a 109 or spit doesn’t do better. I like the 202 most, perhaps because it is such a challenge with its anemic firepower. Emptied my guns into a B26 once … it flew along quite happily while I had to RTB for ammo.

It handles better than a 109 at high speeds. Turning is also similar, out of my head I'd say it's on par with the 109G...6?
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

205 is a bundle of fun just looking to get let loose like a can of WHOPoscar on a furball.

Ohh and forget the default skin, grab the 1st one up. Makes it look like a YAK!

I've often heard that burning your fuel tanks in a particular order helps a great deal in the 205s handling. Never can remember the sequence though...anyone?
