Daaaah... ;)

Reason Im asking is because they are building ski lifts there and sking a barely exploited area is very tempting....

Hia, Tex

i'm just amateur in winter sports, i was born in Romania, and i ussed to practice sking since i was 5 years old, i'm now 38 years old  /240lbs now, and i'll tell you, i find myself not fit for this sport anymore after "few belly /head emergency landings ", a friend of mine broke 2 ribs, few weeks back,
Now,i live in Toronto for 9 years,  and i usualy go every winter few weekends with family, friends at Blue Mountain, cuz is close, 1.5-2 hours drive, lot of fun, lot of peoples in weekends,
Also, i spent 2 winter holidays @ Mont Tremblant , in Quebec, great place, services, don't worry they speak english for guests,
But the real , maybe best  winter resorts in the world are in British Columbia, honestly never been skying there,  but i hope to go soon, maybe next winter, if i lose 50 lbs,:)

Yeah I wouldnt go anywhere but BC in Canada... Compared to eastern Canada we got at least as good if not better skiing in europe so it aint worth it....

Im tempted to go to Revelstoke but need to find someone who knows more about it as its a new resort and I need to find out how they plan to develope the terrain... Hopefully they will focus on easily accessible tree and offpist skiing like Fernie does...

Im 246lbs my self and that isnt an excuse to stay out of the trees and the powder.. just need fat enough skis.. ;)

Seriously just make sure to hit the gym once a week starting 6 months before the trip, then twice a week 4 months before and 3 times a week 3 months before the trip... focus on legs, abs and back all you need... and do some carido as well... that should have you in good enough shape..

But dont start out too hard... too many people start too late and too much training at once... if you are out of shape your body needs to take it step by step or you will risk getting a cold or the flue (too much sudden training lowers your imunesystem)...

If you are coming skiing in North America from across the pond, anything else than this:

http://www.chugachpowderguides.com/cpgindex.html

is going to be anticlimatic.

Well in that case Ill counter with CMH

But since none of them is realistic unless you or some other sugga daddy sponsors it... then its gonna be 3-4 weeks in Fernie or possibly Revelstoke (at least part of it)... BC is really the place to be... Utah rocks as well but the US is more expencive...

Skiing in Canada look up

Sunshine - Banff - Alberta
Lake Loiuse - Banff (Lake Loiuse) - Alberta
Whislter - BC - by Vancouver

Other not bad sites in BC - Panorama, Kimberly, heaven forbid Marmot (Jasper Alberta)

Just google it, you'll find tons

Done Whistler and its too big of a resort... and I like Fernie better.. more relaxed more made for offpist.. less dweebs...

Done Kimberly... less snow then Fernie... less good tree skiing... might as well do fernie... also more a groomer and moguls place which isnt really my cup of coffee...

Panorama from what I understand is more a groomer place....

Banff and Lake Loiuse areas have the whistler syndrome... tooo big ski areas might as well stick to france.... big resorts == dweebs and stress...

Reason Im asking about Revelstoke is that its in development and info is still hard to find...
