I wouldn't fly that if my life depended on it. For the past couple years I've taken off with brakes on a couple times wondering if they'd fixed that aspect yet or not. They haven't.

Even if the breaks were on, the torque of the engine/props would over come the breaks, as they do in game, and the spit 16 is a damn n00b plane, get into a real plane. and if u only fly spits fly the V (5) or Seaf!

And for your problem, i would try to reinstall AH, (make sure to back up your ahiiterr, settings and sounds [if u have sound mods] before you reinstall)

What I like about AH is the interesting variety of people here.

Stange as it may seem the Spit was about the best all round fighter the Brits produced. Being a Brit I like to fly it - Simple as that. Since I fly like a Noob it suits me very well

If the Hurricane was not so outclassed by all the others I would fly that but it just cannot catch up with anything in AH !

Of course the Spit can overcome the brakes but it really does hinder take off and initial speed is very slow to build up. I think this had something to do with the thread here

And guess what 603 Squadron had in Jan 1945 until they were disbanded!
It was reformed on 10th January 1945, renumbered 603 and re-equipped with the Spitfire LF 16e aircraft.

Make sure you don't have brakes assigned to an axis, and if you do make sure the stick isn't spiking in that axis.

Calibrating won't affect a throttle slider, even if the stick is all messed up, the slider has minimal effect from a broken stick spiking all over the place (know this from my old stick).

Maybe you can try un-plugging your keyboard while in-game, leave it out about 5 seconds, then plug it back in.
