HDTV vs Monitor!

I know this question is there a 100 times! but, I will put in out again for your opinion!
I am ready to get a new monitor , hopefully a nice widescreen 22"!
But, would be nice to get that HDTV also!

I did see a nice 32" HDTV 1366x760 720p aspect ratio 16:9, It has a HDMI input
where my card has a DVI and a VGA!

Ok, So where do these HDTV's size up!

Sorry, the real question here is the 1366x760 resolution com!
I guess to say, that you are limited to a 1366x760 screen?
The Higher End HDTV have 1920 x 1080p which are up there in price!!!

As you said, it is really a matter of how much you want to pay.  A quality 32" @ 1366x760 will have a great picture.  A larger screen at 1920x1080p should be better.  Check this article-

Guess I was trying to get two things here, a nice TV and a monitor also!
I usually set my current card on 1280X1024!
So, How would this compare to the 1366X760?

I still set AH to 1280x1024 so I don't lose vertical real estate, ie bottom row of instruments and sky above windscreen.  1920x1080p looked awesome but I won't use a widescreen res without Track IR-

If I understand this correctly, Even though the TV I am getting has 1366x760, I can still set my settings to 1280x1024?

You can, but your image quality will go seriously down the drain. LCD works properly only at native resolution.

Note: my display isn't an LCD but the quality also is greatly dependent on how the video driver handles HDTV and the display's options.  My last rig had an Nvidia card running 81.85 drivers.  I had created perfect 1:1 pixel mapping with a custom resolution within a resolution.  The desktop was set to 1856x1040, but output 1920x1080p through a DVI->HDMI cable. The display detected a 1080p input with the game set at 1280x1024 and I had the option of black bars on th eside or two different stretch modes.  Note: custom res is not required for LCD since they don't overscan like DLP. I hate the way the latest Cat drivers handle HDTV with my new rig's ATI card.  My display detects a 1280x1024 signal from AH but still upconverts it to native 1080p.  I still get the option of black bars or stretch and the image quality is awesome but I don't get perfect 1:1 pixel mapping.  I prolly can't see the difference but it bothers me that it could be ever so slightly better.  My desktop is still set to 1920x1080p and the tv detects 1080p input.  I do use this display as my primary monitor and text is crystal clear from 8 feet away.
