nailed a sherman 4 times in the side with a tiger..nothing....he swung turret and pop go's the weasel:rolleyes:

I killed a Firefly with a broadside from the 110. I was so low i was about coalt with him, got a good burst right into his side.

Yesterday, first day in the Sherm.
Popped 1 pnzr
popped 3 sherms
popped 2 osties
Defending a town

Some shots were High arc f8 shots at 3200 or better.
I only spent about 1/2 hour in it but I like the views and that gun.

I dont drive T34s that much so I wouldnt know. Panzers do a fast job of sermans but if they hit you its over with. I took a tiger out the other day to a sqawn and got hit about 6 times from about 1800-2400 and didnt get damaged took out 5 sermans and 2 tigers and I wasnt camping it I was about 3k away from it and let them come to me. My first shot bounced off the sermans turret so I only shoot at the driver ever since I get 1 shot kills in a tiger and panzer.

I killed a sherman head on with a maned ack only 4 shots and he went boom.

I noticed that the T-34 gun seems to fire about 50% faster.

However...I'd think that the HVAP ammo would knock a sherman(of any mark) out in 1 shot. Furthermore, The Tiger's 88 should go through a sherman lengthwise at any engageable range. There have been alot of reports about the Firefly withstanding hits that put any other tank back in the tower. The Sherman's got an armor bug that needs fixing.

Well, i got 2 films of that:

1: Missed a tiger with 2 pings from away, before that hited twice a Sherman on turret and no damage plus got assist. (that 1 was killed by 1 hit by sherman)

2: Hited a tiger ONCE on turret, direct hit to tower...

Man, that was sad, I'll post the films in this days.

Ok I keep seeing people quoting armor thickness for the PZ IV... is anyone taking into account the skirts?

While they may not seem like much, I'd imagine they might take a fair bit away from the punch of a round...

I killed a Panzer IV through the side skirt with an M8's 37mm cannon a couple of days ago.

The skirts on the Panzer IV are soft steel 5mm thick to detonate bazooka rounds.

Little to no effect on armor piercing ammo penetration.
