V-1 wasnt an aircraft it was a flying bomb. I don't think Ah should add a A/C that didnt even shoot a single enemy plane down. What next if they did the F8F?

Jonny boy the only A/C I see in your list that needs to be in AH is the He-111 but we have been asking for it for years and its still not in the game. No need for it to be in a vote they jsut need to make it to fill in the early war bombers for the LW. I already know someones ganna say something about a hanger queen but think about the future of AH and CT. There will most likely be a BoB CT. And once CT starts that will be more of a money maker then the MA thus more early war planes need to be added.

He-111 is an icon of the war. One of those planes every WWII flight sim should have, well european theatre flight sim.

Don't be intentionally dense.  F8F saw no combat.  The Meteor saw combat agaisnt V1s, against manned German ground targets and hunted for enemy aircraft.  It even engaged Fw190s before being chased off by Spitfires.

There is a massive difference between the F8F's service and the Meteor's service.

IMO the interception of buzz bombs doesn't count.

However, IMO the ground attack DOES count. Meteor Mk.I wouldn't have any leg to stand on. Meteor Mk.III might have a leg to stand on.

F8F doesn't have any legs at all. Not a WW2 aircraft. Why they didn't use it in Korea more, I'll never know.

V-1 interception was the main job of the Tempest...

But it's ingame.

BTW, if you take a poll to add the V-1, you know that people would send scotch to Grapevine for it.

Come to think of it, shooting down V-1's would make good target practice...

WW2 began in 1939... all u guys mostly talk about is 1945 :(

I dont get it, why would the biggest baddest best plane offer something more than an early plane to this game and players' enjoyment of fights?
IMHO, the early plane could enhace the game much more. Maybe less kills, but more fighting to achieve one.

V1s were not the main job for tempests. They also carried ord later on and were sent deep into Germany. [EDIT: Okay, not "deep" but they were over Germany]

Meteor Mk.Is, on the other hand, were kept on England the entire time, even after the major thread to it was diminished.

No comparison.

P.S. Won't ever see V1s because they are unmanned. No point to it. Not to mention they were "nuisance" bombs, or vengeance bombs, meant to target innocent civilians and large civilian areas --- none of which AH has modeled.

I'm more interested in what the reception will be with the next addition more than conjecture over any next election.  How the Mitchell is received may dictate whether or not there will be any more popular votes.

Another buff to shoot down, but how different will the experience be from shooting down a B-24, B-26 or B17?
Okay, Shooting down B-26:s is a bit different form the other 2.
Still.... :(

European Air War had the V-1 and it was a blast trying to "wingtip" that thing!  I'd love to see it come to AH.

AH doesn't have air vortexes modeled. You can't hit your own wake, you don't buffet if you follow another aircraft closely. Computing airflow over millions of cubic feet for any given second doesn't seem possible for a massive online game like this.

EDIT: I re-read this and thought it might be unclear: My point is you can't use your wingtip to down a v1 in AH because it lacks these things.

No need for an election for a long time now - just add the planes from the recent election in the order they were voted in!  First the B-25, then the P-39, soon after that the B-29, then the Brewster Buffalo, etc.  Ready made solution to the order of introduction!

Well, EAW didn't model an airflow wake either.  It just faked it.  It was still fun though.

I'm not serious about this, just having a bit of fun.
