John, he doesn't have any idea of what he said either.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I think he is suggesting the the Nuge smeared feces all over himself and then opted out of bathing for several weeks in order to avoid the draft.....

Ive not heard of this but would be interested in learning if it is true or not.

I have met Ted Nugent a number of times while I worked for a production company on the 91/92 ZZ Top / Damn yankees tour.  I seriously doubt that Uncle Ted would have done this.

He is a great guy and is passionate about his music, recreation, women  and beliefs and first and foremost about being THE big dog in the show.

He's spot on about these gun free zones being the "land of opportunity" for criminals of all types no matter if they are pursesnatchers or pschotic killers like this bozo at VT.

I have my CWL and while I rarely do carry a weapon, it sure has made those bad neighborhoods and unexpected stops for car problems a little less stressful over the last 22 years that I have had it.

From Wiki....

Quote
Nugent was draft age during the Vietnam war. According to Nugent's current website, he enrolled at Oakland Community College and took a student deferment ([4]). A 1990 Detroit Free Press interview that Ted Nugent gave, tells a far different story...."In a July 15, 1990, Detroit Free Press interview, Nugent crowed about how he managed to dodge the draft. He claims that 30 days before his draft board physical, he disavowed personal hygiene. The last ten days he ingested nothing but junk food and Pepsi, and with a week to go until the physical, he stopped using the bathroom altogether. When the big day came, he had been living in excrement-caked and urine-stained pants. However, Nugent also stated to the Free Press, “But if I would have gone over there, I’d have been killed, or I’d have killed all the Hippies in the foxholes. I would have killed everybody.” ([5])

Tried finding it in the Detroit Free Press Magazine archives search, but no confirmation.

I read this article and basically found it OK.

Though I don't understand the relevance of him saying the shooter was non-american. what does he mean? Non citizen, non white? Whatever, cause the guy is a green cared permanent resident alien and I consider those people americans too and part of what makes country too.

Also he was wrong in saying the guns were illegal - in fact the guns were obtained legally.

Still, those points aside hes right - feel good "gun free" zones are a farce.

If you want a gun free zone implement metal detector controlled acess - that tends to work OK.

When you use run-on sentences like the above, it is very tough to decipher.   But when did "nugent dodge the draft".   This is a first, provide a source please.
