comparing the grass textures only in the background...
(not the darker base forground which is same in all pics)
which do you prefer?

OLD?

or

NEW?

THESE PICS WERE SHOT UNMODIFIED
THESE ARE PICS OF THE ORIGIONAL GROUND GRASS TEXTURES AND THE
NEW ONES UNMODIFIED.
I was able to do this with the terrain editor which still has the old stock
textures I simply saved the terrain with old textures and took a screenshot
and in the other one I deleted the old textures so the new ones would
display and took a screenshot.

both looking same direction at noon at same spot at same hills.

settings are 1.0 gamma everything stock with unmodified graphics or
anything else. no tweaked monitor or anything adjusted & ICC monitor
compliance.

please compare the grass textures in the background only.

old,cant see crap with the new

every think looks like one area,you cant see aswell the deprecation is off because everything is one color.

Old..IMHO all the latest improvements have made AH worse.You can't blame them for trying,but thats my couple of cents worth.

I like many of the wonderful new terrain features, the gunpits, the hedgerows, the new trees, the ocean.. but I it's way too dark and I lack any depth perception in low level fights. If I adjust Gamma accordingly, all is washed out and my eyes start to burn... online time has considerable dropped...
