Help for an Uber noob XD.

Hey everyone! I recently started my two week free trial, and I hear people say to go (for example) sector a7. However, when I look at the map, all I see are two numbers labeling the sectors. Could someone explain this to me?

Hi musicman,

A7 would be (A)irfield 7. Sectors are numbered using a grid system on the clipboard map.

To get you up-to-speed faster, check out the FAQ and help files by going back to the Home page and check the menu at top right.

A few minutes of reading will make the game more fun faster. Welcome!

Informally, people also subdivide the sectors.  Imagine that your numeric keypad is placed on top of sector 12,9 for example.  If you're in the middle of the sector, you're at 12,9,5.  The northwest corner is 12,9,7, the southeast corner is 12,9,3 and so on.

Took me forever to figure out how people were getting that third number!

Also dot commands are our friends.
You start a dot command by typing a dot  (period)  .

This tells the radio buffer that your doing a command, NOT talking.
The period  "    .   " HAS to come first, followed by the command name, then variables.

Example, quick way to exit sortie is
.ef  (exit flight)

To move to field A7
.move 7

Simplicity itself  :) Just leave the A, V or P off.

to change country
.country 1 (for bish, 2 = knight, 3 = rook Shudder, god forbid you'd go there)

To set planes autoclimb speed (Alt X)
.speed 123

Questions?
