Thank heavens no I live on south-east coast. But I wouldn't mind relocating say 2000-3000km further south.

But unfortunately mediterranean is awesome for vacations, bad for work.

Thanks Rip.  Girls are typically cuter than boys, when they’re not crying that is… which really isn’t all that often.  

We’ve learned to dress everyone in the brightest clothes we can find when we hike in Alaska; I like how they show up in pictures.  I’ve boosted the saturation in some of these pictures, my old Canon pocket camera would usually undersaturate.  Some of them are almost normal though.

Many of these pictures are very grey to start with.  I like the contrast in pictures like this one where Brigitta is brightly dressed and everything else is pretty flat and grey.  Below is the unedited original (cropped and resized though).  Below that is the altered copy.




I like what turning up the saturation does for people’s skin, hair and clothes; but I also like landscapes like this in high contrast black and white (Ansel Adams-ish).  It brings me back to my B & W film/lab days. This is a way to get both.

No kidding?  How long ago did you leave and where did you live?  

I grew up mostly in Anchorage but also lived in: Juneau, Cordova, Wasilla, Houston, Homer/Anchor Point and Fairbanks.  Alaska was home from 1965 to 1994.  Since then home has been Hawaii, Colorado and now Ohio.

Nice ~ I didn't live there long. My family is from Deering.  But I lived in Anchorage & Fairbanks when I was a kid.  And they're scattered all over Alaska now.  

Saw the Dimond HS stuff ~ I think one of our horrible babysitters tossed my little brother in the pool at that school once.

WOW!  That’s awesome!  Is that Pike’s Market in Seattle?  

Did you use my silly MS Paint method or did you use better software with some filter to shut down all colors but red?
