Power supplies are the most mis understood aspect of computers. Total watts is not as import as the distribution on the various "rails". I couldnt find exactly how much power the X1300 draws but I'm gueesing about 14amps on your 12V rail. Look at your power supply and you'll see a chart on the side breaking down your wattage into the various rails. You need a minimum of 16 amps on your 12V rail (18 preferred). If you have less then 16 your going to have issues and can actually damage the card. I ran a GT7900 on a 300W PS with zero problems...but it had 18amps on the 12V rail.

I see a lot of people talk bad about the 6200 video card.. and I really can't complain about mine.

I paid $40 for it (AGP)... kept it for my upgrade.

I have an E6300 conroe, 2 gigs DDR2, and the 6200 video card.  I get 40-50fps consistently at 512 texts, 1280X1024, and sliders about 2/3 to max.  I used the hi-res pack at 1024 texts for awhile and framerates still in the 30-40 range, but went back to 512 after occasional stutters developed.  I get a constant 75FPS at 256 texts, but don't care for the appearance at that level.

The only video problem I run into is flames and heavy fog.  Gets real jumpy in those conditions, especially when zoomed in.. but still playable.

Yes I'd love to be able to max everything out, but I just don't have the money to invest right now.  While my M/B does support PCI-e, I'll probably replace it anyway when I choose to upgrade to PCI-e, as it only supports 4X.  I'll probably get a high end AGP card before that happens though.  Also a new power supply at that time.. I only have a 300watt (Haven't checked amperage ratings on it.. but no problems).  I put new guts in my old Systemax case... but that's all down the road.

I'd imagine though 1680X1050 might be a bit much for this card.. without dropping down to 256 texts... so good luck with your new card

If you are looking for a new power supply though, I would highly recommend the Ultra X-Finity.  I myself bought a 500W one through circuitcity and paid $60 because I had a gift card.  I have yet to have any problems with it and it runs very quiet while keeping the case pretty cool at the same time.  I have a higher end card I believe in my 7600GS and it powers it pretty easy.

the lady of the house just bought a Saphirre Radeon 1950XT  256 meg GDDR3 for 129.99  included shipping  from newegg to replace her  ASUS Radeon 850Pro ( in which case she gave it to me , although I bought it to begin with for her )

I was under the impression the X1300 series were lower end cards........

I checked the specs on my power supply, the 12v rail is rated at 14 amps.
I'm still waiting on the card, but if this set up doesn't work, I can return the card and upgrade my supply to widen my choices.
