Fellows, cross your fingers for me this time
« on: May 25, 2007, 08:15:03 AM »
Wife is en route with our 1 year dauchter to the hospital. (1 hr).  Pneumonia suspected, or some other trouble in the lungs so it's straight to ex-ray etc etc.
Now I pretend to be a tough old boot, but there is probably nothing that gets to you in the way a helpless child of yours does. And the missus is in shambles.
So, cross your fingers or light a candle for my toddler will you.

:(
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Two out of my three kids have had pneumonia.

In fact my youngest son had it a few differnent times and was sent to Boston for a scope of his lungs as they found a "shadow" on his lung after a review of all of his xrays.  That turnd out to be scarring from his worst bout and nothing to be concerned about.

Very scary times though, so I know what you are going through.

Thoughts are with you...try not to worry too much, a parent can invent horrific things in their minds at times like this.  Easy to say though...I realise.

Thanks all, and there are good news, - i.e. no Pneumonia!
She will return tonight, so my blood pressure has dropped a lot.
I'll post a picture a little later.
Thanks all again!

Great news.

I'll never forget being instructed on how to take my son and position him across my knees on his stomach and being shown how to "thump" the backside of his chest with a cupped hand to try and loosen the stuff in his lungs.  It wasn't as easy as the nurse made it look and whacking your very very ill son on his back and listening to him struggling to breathe while doing so was torture.

I'm glad you won't have to face that.

:aok
