I went in there for the first time last night.
It was pretty cool! Way different than LW MA. First, the terrain was totally different. Instead of green, green, and more green, we had a nice winter terrain with pine trees.
Then there was alot of weather. Lots of low clouds, fog effects, etc. It made for a more challenging environment to find targets and fight.
The burn multiplier is cranked down, so you can get alot more flight out of your gallon of gas.
The radar isn't the auto update thing, but actually updates every few minutes, so you really have to visually search for your targets (in the weather too, so the potential to get jumped is much higher if your SA isn't up).
The icon range appeared to be set much shorter. Is that dot a friendly, or enemy? You won't know until you're close enough where running could be iffy.
The towns have real names. The maps look more authentic.
Lower number of players and a set planeset mean no spit vs. hurricane fights, but rather more authentic fights. I took up a P-38L, a plane I get massacred in in the MA. Also, the players seemed more into a good fight, and not just scoring HO kills, except for the d---khead that popped in just long enough to vulch my plane on the runway while I put my son to bed.
If you haven't checked out this arena, give it a try. It's alot different, and I enjoyed it alot more that the typical LW MA horde HO-fest.
See ya,
