Just to clarify, what I thought was clear in the initial post.

I didn't have any problem with what happened.  I just thought it interesting that I happened to be filming it as it happened.  No beef with Zazen or anyone else for that matter :)

Yea, likewise Guppy. We talked about it after it happened on vox. It was just one of those things, the Niki was loose on his own, we just both went after him at the exact same time in the exact same position.

I understand the reason for killshooter, but there are other ways it could be handled.  Instead of applying the damage to just your plane, you could apply it to both (which might actually discourage someone from cutting in front of your guns).

Alternatively, if you are worried about dweebs / spies shooting down friendlies, you could set a flag (warning - killed a friendly) the first time someone does it (in case it is an accident), and then if it happens again (dweeb/spy = yes), you boot them from the country.

kill stealing.
« Reply #33 on: June 01, 2007, 09:59:14 AM »
if somebody kills the bird im chasing.....it just means i didnt kill them quick enough.

examples:

1)I'm saddled up on a con shooting away in vain and Zazen swoops in and pops the guy just before i get another shot.

evaluation: NOT a kill-steal, i was too slow, swear at myself.

2)I'm saddled on a con and manage to blow his tail feathers off, and let the remaining parts fall to earth. Zazen swoops down and blasts the defeated con with his 4xhizookas, caliming credit for the kill.

evaluation: kill-steal, swear at Zazen.

any questions?

Actually there wasn't.  The N1K was off from the pack which made him a more favorable target for a slow 38G driver like me :)

Yea i thought Corky's wing would've been gone.  Corky how does this stuff always happen to you? You need to sprinkle salt on yourself and have a priest do an exorcism on you to remove bad luck. :lol

I found the link to where almost the exact same thing happened to me four years ago. Very relevant to this day on the flaws of the current "frag rules". If you look at Corky's picks our planes are actually overlapped, just like what happened to me back then. My propsal was a minimum threshold where the self-hit fragging occurs, like 100 yards
