Democracy is two wolves deciding on what to eat. Freedom is a well armed sheep protesting the vote.

I know a lot of mexicans.. the n word is not taboo for them.   There is no love lost between those ethnic groups/races.

lazs
that is indeed a fact.  the mexicans are driving the blacks out black neighborhoods around here at an alarming rate.

No kidding, MT. It just shows the true colors of our "conservative" friends.
I'm surprised Skuzzy hasn't pulled out the PNG stick.

why is that MT?  I don't think anyone here is racist.  some posters have posted verifiable comments regarding racial tension between minority groups.  these tensions do indeed exist and by certain members of our society refusing to see let alone admit that these problems occur is bad for the society as a whole.

why would you want to stifle the debate by calling them klansmen?

here in my town whole neighborhoods that were traditionally black communities are being taken over by mexicans and central americans.

some folks here are calling it black flight but I have yet to see that in print or hear it on the news.  many blacks are pulling up stakes and heading for georgia and alabama.

I personally don't like it.  I think diversity is good. I like living here and I like the makeup of our communities.

It's not illegal to be racist. I don't think it's even grounds for a PNG status on this board to be racist so long as no one is attacked in way that warrants removal. I'm not defending racism but an honest discussion shouldn't end just because a racist attitude is revealed.

Oh, so it's cool to be racist...as long as you're not the minority.

It's always more fun to be in a majority if there's oppression happenin'. ;)

Seriously though, I missed the part where anyone said it was cool to be a racist.

RPM,

Is not the above statement I quoted also indicative of a racial stance or possible racist feeling. Obviously the conotation is that the individuals are a member of a white only group.

Is it equally racist to be prejudiced if one is from a minority population vs the majority population? Can one be racist if one is a minority? What is the equivalent of the clan for a minority person?
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

so if one points out percieved racism one might be construed as being racist by one?

I think most dictionaries define racism as holding that one race is superior to another. I'm holding the NBA to be pretty darned racist.

Well before the lock...

MT you start calling some "unidentified" posters in this thread Klansmen, in not so subtle a way... if that isn't the pot calling the kettle.

"Racism" being the generalization of a person because of their race (even assumed race).

Here you don't see us physically, but assume. Well let's assume you see a slitty eyed person possibly from an Asian decent. Do you assume they are Japanese? Possibly Chinese? If you were to see a name like "Phanmahavong" what would you assume from that?

Would expect whomever to speak broken engrish? same go for "Chow"?

You are assuming alot in this and many threads.

The term "racist" is thrown about here and there, in todays society it is almost  a moniker for any white protestant male regardless of situation, or actual facts.

The truly sad part is the fact is there are "reverse" racists. Let us use black persons, or latino persons, or asian persons... they may see a white male and assume his thoughts / politics, whatever.

(SIDE NOTE firefox wants me to CAPITALIZE asian, and latino, but not black)

Anyway, NOT some people but ALL people have made their own judgments on others... race, religion, whatever... hopefully not on learned or "inherited" assumptions but on personal experience in the real world.

it is a fact of life, I see you, you see me, and we make a judgment, or at least an assumption based on clothing, manners, posture, skin color, whatever we can visually gather to assess the confrontation that will follow. I DO hope you are intelligent enough to know "confrontation" is referring to an interaction of a personal sort, NOT a "fight".

From what I gather, the "liberals" or whatever name you want to give want us all in the WHOLE WORLD to forgo what we see and interpret, and just imagine our own twin walking up to us to have a conversation.

I have to say if you are that delusional to assume that will / can happen across the entire world, and with all races / creeds I am sorry for you.

You may cast your eyes down on someone like me for haven a predisposed opinion on many things, but turn your eye on ¾ of the world’s population at the same time. Remember I am not the majority of the entire world, not even close. I am just what you happen to personally see a lot.

What about what person XXX in Kenya see’s on a daily basis? What about what person YYY in Hong Kong see’s daily? Heck, choose any point on the globe, and more than ¾ of the time it won’t be me, or my likeness in any sort of the way.

What these liberal “equality” people seem to have is a double standards for what is “right”. Not only that, but a “righteous” pedestal to stand on from their moral high ground, approving or denying what is right or wrong to see… even though they have not “seen” it all themselves.

I neither profess to be “better” or “worse” then any other, NOR do I say what he / she should do or say in any given situation. I merely use my life experiences, and past events to possibly predict an outcome in a situation so I may react properly for my own personal gain.

It’s called self preservation.

If you really want to argue and debate semantics about it all there can be, has been, and will be a million other threads about it here in the AH Oclub. There are also MANY other outlets for your thoughts, but here I think Skuzzy would not disagree, we are a generally lighthearted bunch. We just have invigorating conversations, sometimes someone getting a bit hot-headed, but other than that we will NEVER solve the worlds problems.

So how’s it gonna be?
I don't know what to put here yet.
