Farewell my fellow AH'ers
« on: June 21, 2007, 04:29:03 PM »
I enlisted in to the U.S. Navy. I will be a Aviation Structural Mechanic and I leave the 25th of this month.

Just to give you all a run down on what my goals are, I want to use the money from the Navy to attend Embry Riddle Aeronautical University to get my Bachloers Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Then I want to put in a officer package and hopefully if they accept it, I will begin flight school. Basically, I want to fly.

Since I will be gone for 16 weeks, I must canel my account so that my parents won't have to pay.

Anyways, I wanted to say that all of you have been really awesome countrymen and opponents and I hope to see you all soon.

and thank you for your service.

You might want to look into taking courses from ERAU while you are still in the Navy. I had a friend do that while he was in the Air Force, once he graduated he move to the Coast Gaurd and received a commision, the AF didn't want to give him one.

Use to be that active service personel could take ERAU courses from their duty station, and I believe that the military paid for it. I'm not 100% sure as this was 20 yrs ago.
