Was that an actual river Rip?  Had that same view happen to me one time, except it was my friend and myself in my car.  Streets were covered in an inch or 2 of hail, water was rising incredibly fast, was an urban river.

Them thare's big stones...

Most hail we get is half a centremetre, and very light. Although usually it is delivered in 100mph winds horizontally.

That was the street, turned to a river albeit temporarily.

You did, you did show it to me. ;)

Looks like an interesting storm there. How long and how much rain fell?

Not much, just a fast and dirty T-Storm. 1/2" of hail on the ground. Took down a huge branch on one of my trees and destroyed our Romaine lettuce in the garden.

Around a typically-boring weather area such as ours, it was nice for a change.  Usually clouds means just rain, but once a year we get a nice T-storm out of it.
