ok got a really strange problem and as u guys on here usealy have a good collective knowladge ill ask for your help.

I cant get my interntet browsers to work.
i can connct to the internet and i can play aces high.

but when i got to browse the internet  in ie7 or firefox or bt it just sits there then a message comes up that the connection is timed out!!!!


but on my laptop i can get the conection easy?

if i can play ah on it why wouldnt ot let me use any of the browsers?

any ideas guys?

Sounds like a DNS issue.  DNS translates the IP address of a site into a name, and vice versa.

AH connects directly to the IP of the arena, therefore DNS isn't necessary, but web browsing relies mostly on names.

Try opening up IE and typing in 64.233.167.99 where you would type in the name of a website.  This should bring up google.com.  If it does you need to verify your DNS settings.

if that does not work bring up command window and type .release ISP then type .retrive ISP

I've run into various instances of this issue in the past - seems like I had to release and renew my IP in my router...also once or twice I've had to open up a command prompt and release and renew my local IP by typing ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew
