Modification to the .salvo command
« on: July 10, 2007, 04:05:04 AM »
Hi there.

I'd like to be able to set different salvoes for different weapons. I don't think it's possible, atm. What I mean is that often, when I'm flying a jabo, I need to change the salvo setting while in the heat of combat, while it would be good to be able to set them at take off, so that, say, I can drop my 2 bombs together but I can fire only 1 rocket at time.

Maybe a ".salvobomb" and ".salvorocket" can make this wish come true. ;)

i agree 100%
adding a Salvo command would make it more intresting espiccaly agianst tanks when you shoot all your rockets at once and not having to press it over and over agian.

I would like to see a capacity for macros in the game that could then be applied to buttons or whatnot... I could do this theoretically with my X52 programming software, but it would be neat to have it actually in the game.

FlaydONE has done this for calibration mode. Don't ask me how, but one push of a button and he's set.

Just takes fast fingers  :)

On a good day I can salvo 3 to take out a hanger on one side of the field.
Reset back to 1 to take out barracks on the other side.

In Fighter or Jabo its even easier, point nose up on exit, hands off stick, set salvo, reverse.

Yes, true, but there are times when you just can't fast enough... like when you have 3 Spixteen and 4 Lalas on your tail... and what about typos??? Think about the poor spellers or the foreigners! And it affects your SA!

No, thanks. Let me set up my salvoes differently for each kind of weapon, so that I'm ready when on target, please. :)

I've wanted to have programmable macros for ages.
I do a lot of jabo stuff, and switching rockets and bomb salvos has killed me many many times:(
I'm not exactly sure which buttons I'll use yet, they are all used (there's a lot of buttons on the X52) but once my pedals arrive in a few days I'll have a few spare buttons.

I use this:

Logitech G11. You can program all kinds of stuff to the key battery on the left side, plus you have 3 modes, that ist 18x3 macros you can set. Including time-delayed recording of the macros.

Matt

.salvo 1 x
.salvo 2 y
etc

The same way we have
.ord 0 x
.ord 1 y
etc.

A button to drop everything would be good too.

easiest implementation would be to use existing salvo command and have it apply to whatever rail/bay is selected at the time.

eg. select 500lb ".salvo 1", then select rockets ".salvo 2"

it would also be useful to know what salvo you already have set.
