lost j/s controls in AH
« on: July 11, 2007, 09:09:28 PM »
Hi Guys -

I've got a saitek X52 which was working flawlessly in AH.  tonight, I saw the local computer store had the Saitek rudders on sale so i splurged and bought them.

I did the install (did not install the SST software on the rudder disk as its installed from the j/s) and everything worked great.

Then, I went and installed the SST software for the rudder peddels and everything went to crap.  I lost my sound for a while, it came back but I'm not sure what i did.  When I fire up AH, it recongizes the j/s and rudder, but no keypresses from the j/s.  I am using the SST to program.

I uninstalled everything, and still don't have anything working.  Windows recogizes that everthing is there and all buttons, axis etc.

Does anyone have any ideas just what the duece is going on?  Thanks for the help!

Maybe dump the saitek software and just use AH to get the HOTAS working:)

Yeah, I thought of that but, the AH controls dont' let me use all the buttons like I want to (primarily the shift function).  I ended up wiping out all the old drivers and installing some really old ones.  I was able to get it working from that.

I'm just not installing the SST software for the rudders.  No biggie.  I don't see any need to program those anyways

It seems this is fairly common to X52's,you should look at other forums on this subject.I suspect it's an USB problem, you could unplug some of your USB ports and see if this helps.1 sugestion would be to get a powered USB hub. Hope this helps

Check your cable between the throttle and stick. In my second x52, the plug in the back of the stick keeps loosing it's connection and when it happens, I have a dead stick until I shut down the pc, reconnect the cable securely and reboot. Sometimes the throttle will work but most of the time the trouble takes it down along with the stick.
Easy in-game again.
