After update...when I click on desktop icon to log into AH.....I get a white screen..I have to minimize AH and get out of game by closing it on tool bar
Help!

My first question: What update? What were you updating? AH hasn't had one in a while.

White screen hang could be a lot of things. Can you post the top 1/3 of your DXDIAG for us?

i am thinking you jacked up your gamma. dont fell bad i have been here with the white screen. delete it and reinstall it but you got to delete everything all settings have to be deleted. if you dont delete all the files you will still have the white screen.

Actually, gamma is listed in the "video8.cfg" file in the settings folder. That's the only file you have to delete in that situation.

However, if he's hanging (crashed) it's not a gamma issue.

well in his first post he didnt say he crashed. he said "minimize AH and get out of game by closing it on tool bar Help!"

Good point. However, has the gamma ever messed up your main menu? Or does it wait until you're in-game?

I've had crashes (in the past) where it gave a full white screen, but usually it would give me an error box after a while.

ya i could not even see clipboard after opening up the game nor could i see graphics i was

took me for ever to find a soulotion to that problem:aok and thanks for pin point the file that gamma is in i can never memorise those files

Thanks guys been a busy day just got to look at replys....when I logged on to the game,.......a update screen came on and thats when the problem started......I will try what you all say and get back with ya.....thats for your help!!!! the whole screen is white every time I log on....even when I minimize the ah screen by usingt ab alt my computer screen is white untill I close ah at tool bar

Kaw,
As Krusty said, I would try deleting the "video8.cfg" in the Settings folder first. If that fails, I would save the Settings folder (minus "video8.cfg"), sights, films, any custom sounds, maybe skins folders and uninstall/clean reinstall the game. Then replace the folders you saved. GL

just like i said delete the who graphics file and reinstall. dont take a chance just do the whole file its only graphics not much settings you can change there.

take that back i said all settings ment only graphics sorry
