Computer Problems
« on: July 13, 2007, 06:11:21 PM »
I have a 5 year-old DELL computer and i am having a few problems.

My major problem is that my computer freezes ONLY when i play this game....it's fine when on internet and stuff like that.  Could somebody help with that?

My other problem is that my computer minimizes the game constantly while i play.  I have McAfee (which someone said could be the problem..thats why i brought it up).

So if any one could offer some assistance just post on here and i'll keep track.

THANKS,

GOST208

turn your anti viruis off, then try the game. if the problem still happens then post the first third of your DXDIAG here so we can see what you have in your dell.

a 5 year old Dell sounds like your on the low end of the "technology" pool. The DXdiag report will tell the gurus here what you got, and the best setting they can suggest to get you running.

save the report to your desktop, cut and paste the first third of the report on the boards. It will have CPU, video, sound, drivers, settings, types of hardware, all kinds of info about the workings of your computer.

ok lets do it this way. take and divide you DXDIAG in 4th so you have 4 parts. now we need the first 3rd of that. to do that just highlight it and right click and click copy. then run over here and open a new post right click in post and click paste. :aok

Put it this way.... you want all the hardware, up to and including SOUND and MODEM but not all the gobbeldy-gook that takes up the bottom 2/3s of the file. Start with everything down to (and including) SOUND and all the entries under there. Then include the next 3-5 lines of the heading after SOUND. We probably won't need it, but it shows us that you got everything.

90% of the time I notice SOUND is the last hardware entry in the file, which is why I say use that. Not always, but most of the time.
