U.S troops "embarrassing" sez Iraq prez
« on: July 14, 2007, 04:22:26 PM »
I laughed up a little beer thru my nose watching the CNN reporters look of total horror as he reported this.

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2007/07/14/africa/ME-GEN-Iraq.php

Iraq president Nouri al-Maliki  said today US troops were "embarrassing" his govt by "..violating human rights.." and treating his country like an "experiment in a U.S. lab", adding "they can leave anytime they want".

I hope W is wearing his .gov NASA diaper when he reads this.

X-mas just came early for the Dems, the drama to follow should be sadly entertaining.

Edit:
It was One of his top aides who said "embarrassing ", my bad. The CNN dude said "Nouri al-Maliki" govt, I thought he said Nouri al-Maliki then I read the article. It was Nouri al-Maliki who said US troops could leave.

LOL @ Holden....great post

Be interesting to see the next few weeks how this is handled. Either way they I think Pres. Bush will take a beating. If he WAS to pull out or begin the pull out they'll beat him up for not doing it sooner....if he doesn't they'll definatley hammer him.

Poor guys is in a no win spot I think.

If the Iraqi government is sure their security forces are up to the task, then by all means, lets bring our boys and girls home. :)

IF Bush would have come out and said that BEFORE Al-Maliki, then yes, score one for GWB.

However, It just looks like a knee-jerk, reaction statement, Since it came out second-hand. Plus, the big hooplah now will be about the pace of the 'phased withdrawal'.

If I was to wager, I'd say that Al-Maliki will become more and more Anti-U.S. as we withdraw our troops, and will start *****ing if we don't do it soon.

Yeah just 2 days ago the dems were calling for a phased withdrawal. But reps said they were traitors and losers. But now Bush would be a hero for the same thing? You guys confuse me:)

One of them over there right now is my own son. He will always be my boy.

I was speaking as a parent of one of those boys and girls.
