Not me!  I'll never admit to 'playing airplane' for over a decade.   That's not very sensible, responsible, or practical.   Who would consider me dependable,  presentable, irrefutable, and logical?  They'd be calling me a liberal or radical!

Been here since Beta point Zero errr. 1999?2000? as Vruth and changed my ID to Fork back in 2001. It's been so long now I don't remember exactly when I started.

Vulcan - TFX? WooHoo! I remember that and F-117! And Chuck Yeagers Air Combat

Now that is a classic!  First time I played a sim that I actually required a decent joystick. Picked up a Gravis Advanced joystick just to play it. :)

Perhaps one of the best sims of its time.

Remember Dynamixs Red Barron

Now, that was a neat sim! :)

Hmmm,
I got back from Germany in 92, played AW a couple of times but it was 6.00/ hr for the game/connection and 12.00/hr for the long distance dial up... lotta money on a Sergeants pay. Started playing regular in 94 or so, in 96 I got out of the Army and in to the FAA played a lot in 97 played a lot of AH when it came out haven't played a lot in the last year or so (Work is eating a lot of my time) still Haunt the boards though

..i remember ef2000 very well, in this time around 1996/97 it was a great sim and ahead of its time, for me just the first true jet sim and it was great fun to play..

F19 Stealth by Microprose on a monochrome monitor, DOS of course. :D Thought I was in heaven and jets were not even my thing. LOL No idea what year that was. Late 1980's I guess.

Was in Warbirds 1 something. 1996? I remember those black sticks coming out the back of airplanes for smoke. Nothing could be better than this. :)

Started the Squad back in 1997. Moved here around 2000.

Started as 'Deader' as part of the Aggressor squadron Oct 89 AWDOS on my killer Amiga 500.
.. I was one of the few in the squadron who actually knew how an airplane worked.
We were such dweebs -LOL- .. Mullah used to get mad at us because we did such silly stuff .. ruint the reputation of C-land for sure! DoK immortalized us on the GEnie bbs ..out of the 90 some odd people in the squadron very few actually stayed in the game.. the heat was on if you said anything about being an Aggressor :)

Vossman was one. (Jay Thompson, great guy, drank a lot when he flew, fun to shoot down, one of the few who stood the test of time, not that lyin sack who called himself 'Voss')

G-man talked me into the skies of AW, initially Damned,
..then invited to the Warthogs .. ever fly for a Colonel wannabe?
Ya ..Fencedweeb can police *this* up.

I remember HT and Heater takin high cons, me takin low, the 3 of us in stangs, over N:11 ..yea tho we flew into the Valley of Death ..we feared no evil .. because we *were* the owners of that valley.. we all ran low on ammo and fuel and landed a buncha kills.. there were 11 or so cons there when we arrived, and none when we left, altho A-land and C-land tried to drive us out.

I got booted out of the Warthogs by Fencedweeb, then grabbed by the FUBAR out of C-land.
Changed my handle to Grayeagle, I hunted b-land, specifically Warthogs, and a fencedweeb kill was golden.. screwing up one of their squad nights was a close 2nd. I would dive through a cloud of A-landers to gun down the lone B in a furball. It was my mission in AW.

There was *nothin* like followin Volstag in pure craziness air-to-air :)
'Frog Auger on 4!! .. 3..  2.. 1 ..GO!'
Listenin to the Hoppy and Pho show :)
(they actually owned a P-38 ..Hoppy was disgusted with it, every time he flew it he managed to have to make a one engine landing.. AW didnt cost you anything if you bent the bird up!)
Or hookin up with Mullah on the deck, both of us in 190's, and just owning an A-land base till we were both outta ammo, fuel, and airplane.

I miss Krazy Kat, The Lady Jenna, the Fubar newsletter, Snail in the early days before he went completely off the deep end.. and JJ, the class act of FUBAR, winner of the 'Golden Sheep' award on many occasions.
The FUBAR were a blast to fly with.
Rapier, Stiletto, Hard Rock, ..so many tough fights, pegged my fun meter many times.

Then .. Blue Baron called me .. told me Kesmai wanted me as Lead Artist and 'when can you come out' .. LOL .. 'well, tomorrow wont work, howbout Friday (the day after tomorrow)' .. I think its the only time he was ever taken aback if just for a moment :)

I was 2 weeks away from my final exam for a CAD Engineering degree :)

I could go on for a long time .. suffice to say I think I qualify as an 'old timer' .. I will probably have to start up my 3rd acct here soon.
Had to cancel out a coupla times due to RL .. but now, as a Nurse, I dont see any layoffs, job market is thru the roof, ..and I just turned down workin doubles on Sunday for 44/hr because frankly .. I'd rather have the days off.

I sent WB > $100 a couple of months in a row before I found FA. switched to AH in beta/tour 1 there abouts. can't go by the dates next to handles on bbs as AH reset back in 2000 I think. It was $30 a month for AH when it first started up and had no gv's or ships, just A2A - those were the days

Hi Mates

I started in WarBirds back in 1996.  Got on AH in beta days and have been here ever since.  Left WB for good back in 2004.

Also, I am probably one of the oldest guys in AH.  Passed the big 70 in July.

Cheers

Dear God, who knows... :huh
Umm, started swotl way back, before that tried various dos flight sims which came out. I remember one back in '92? based on star wars which I completed every level.
- Started Air Warrior in '95
- Tried Warbirds for abit when AW2 came out.... God aw2 sucked, WTG on killing a good game.
- Came back to AW3 for awhile.
- Started Aces High Early '00. Frenchy an I were trying different games then, playing the waters.
- Had a brief two month stint in IL2, EAP in 02.
- Continued Aces High an been here ever since.

I guess i'm a long timer, man where has the time gone?
