I had one of these once. So tempting to get an '07, just wouldn't be practical.

This is what I drive now, well one just like it.

yeah wooley, Karaya is right fords are very safe with side impact bars. without the safter features i would probably have lost my legs.

she started skidding at about 70mph and hit me a glancing blow as i was angled to turn left onto the road she was on.

The impact was such that my basesball cap flew off my head and out of the broken drivers window, onto the road.

The other factor that saved me serious injury was the fact that she was driving a 2006 model Nissan Micra.
you should have seen the mess her car was in, the front left headlights were smashed all the way back into the pasenger footwell, it was a stroke of luck that she was alone in the car.

she was treated for whiplash and seat belt bruise on her rips.

I was treated for glass in the arm and face, but my two passengers and my family dog were unharmed, something that i will always be thankfull for.

Kewl to see what everyone drives, good thread Widewing, being a car buff :)

Alot of "younguns" showing what their parents drive, which is cool.  I posted my stuff, but I gotta show you My Mom and Dad's rigs.  I'm 44, got my own stuff, but Mom has her baby garaged and she knows she isn't allowed to sell it, it's Mine :P

One of a couple in the state.  Lincoln Blackwood.

Dad on the other hand just loves his Lincoln Navigator Limited Edition.

SWEET! My XRatty only has the Cosworth grille, but I am going to get the RS tail. I dont want the RS500 lower deck spoiler, I only want the upper, and I would like to put the Cossie hood vents.

What have you done to your engine? Mine has a SAAB radiator (identical size to the Cossie) so I can fit the small Cosworth intercooler, LA2 computer and large VAM, and a home made boost controller/bleed valve (18lbs) otherwise its stock.

I actually changed the motor from the Ford 2.3 turbo to the Cosworth 2.0 turbo.  She pushing 356hp at the wheels and 373ft/lbs of torque at 18lbs boost.  Now my engine can handle up to 500hp.  In order for me to get that, I have to increase my boost to about 22lbs which I don't want to do.  I want the car to last, lol.  If I use street tires on the drag she spins the tires through 3rd gear easily.  Car only weighs about 2600lbs if that.  Most of my parts for the car came from Rapido.

http://www.rapidogroup.com/

If u get the catalog from them, they do list the cosworth motor.  Thye do have alot of up grades for the 2.3 too.  Was tempted to build the 2.3 I have with the parts they offer and use it in another XR4TI.:t

If you have any interest in converting to the Cosworth AWD let me know and I will PM you contact info for a guy that builds XR4Ti ProRally cars using stuff imported from the UK. He has built several AWD XR's using Cosworth bits, builds copies of the Ford WRC suspensions, trans mounts, and tons of other stuff. He is very eccentric but can hook you up.
