Review airline of the year
« on: July 16, 2007, 04:33:44 PM »
I just came back to a 2 week vacation to Leon , GTO. I constantly change airlines to check it out. This year it was AeroMexico.

I have several things to say about this airline...

First they are short on staff at the check in counter. All you see if like 1-2 people checking in like 100 passengers. When you are at the waiting at the gate ready to board the plane theres no one!! So delays are very likely. Also everyone is on board and they havent yet loaded the luggage and/or the freaking jet fuel. Second their Boeing 737s and their MD-80s I boarded were old as heck. Can't even get to my destination because I had connect to another flight. When the MD-80 was being pushed back all of a sudden the lights and engines turned off. So everyone had to come off the plane and catch otherone which lasted several hours. Coordination sucks big time. Third their service is lousy, for breakfast they give you 4 slices of honeydew not even ripe yet and a very sour yogurt. For lunch they give you a crappy sandwitch, with a slice of smelly cheese. Based upon my experience I give it a 2 out of 10 stars:aok

Next review expected between June 30 - July 17, 2008

At least they attempted to feed you. Other then Jet Blue, I can't remember any US airline doing that on an internal flight recently. Of course, it may be different on international flights, but I'd rather poke sharp sticks in my eyes than fly internationally with a US carrier.

There are a great many things America does well. Air travel is not one of them.

Sadly, wooley is correct.

Air travel on US carriers has fallen down hill since deregulation.

I LOVE Lufthansa!

Buy your own food inside the terminal and you won't have to worry about  bad airline snacks....

Lufthansa is the friggin bomb. UNLESS you fly Lufthansa within Germany. It is my recommendation to fly one of the smaller airlines within Germany since they are not as crowded and they are usually on top of the ball if a problem arises.

I haven't flown British Airways or Air France yet but I have heard that their service is on par with Lufthansa for international flights. OH and one other thing is that any time I fly internationally it is via Business or First Class. I will not fly coach again for anything longer than 4 hours if I can help it.

I'd rather pay less for airfare and feed myself that eat that crap they called "Food" that airlines served in the 60-70 and 80's. :aok

I recently flew to Minnesota for $224.00 R/T. In 1980, I flew to Minnesota for $285 R/T. Do the inflation calculation and you'll see it was cheaper today. Probably not all due to reduced services, but it certainly helped!

Now, overseas travel, that's different. Best have a good airlines that serves eatable food like Resche mentioned.

That's pretty tacky, Holden. Thought you had a little more class than that.

I apologize Rolex…

I was just trying to explain the labor shortage... I mean with a population of 108 million in Mexico, and 12 to 20 million illegals in the USA, the majority of those being from Mexico, you could have like 10% of the Mexico's population unavailable to work for a national airline.

Sorry if I offended you.

p.s. you might wish to check your humor fluid level.  It may be a quart low.

You didn't offend me. I guess I'm tiring of the general cynicism by many about everything and everyone, and the requirement to inject politics and social agendas into any topic.

Someone could start a topic about 10 ways to cook BBQ and before long, someone will hop in to blame Clinton and the democrats for a recipe failure. Then Bush and Cheney get blamed, then it's illegal aliens and legal aliens and Iraqis. Then comes time to blame everyone in Europe for all that's wrong in American BBQ recipes, and let's not forget to bash the French, parliamentary forms of government, Muslims, non-evangelical Christians, Mac users, Ted Kennedy, Donald Rumsfeld, Chinese, Indians, Canadians, blacks, Mexicans, people who drive white cars, Michael Moore, the New York Times and the metric system.

P.S. Did you know there are filters available that can reduce the caustic material eroding your humor delivery system?

:p
