Help with the Terrain Editor
« on: July 22, 2007, 06:05:35 PM »
I have been following Denholm's tutorial word for word but when i got to the part that involved creating the clipboard map I did what the tutorial said, but nothing happened in the "map" box that is described. I did this several times and still the box was empty. I am completely confused about this matter and would like to know what the problem is so i can start making maps. Thanks

Ok after that save your terrain. Goto htc terrain editor folder click on your terrain folder. Create a new folder called texsrc. Open your mapname.bmp file and save as 8 bit bmp. Drag that into texsrc and you have your box map.

I was able to get the map to come up in the box just by taking "map.bmp" and changing the name to the terrain name.

You missed an important step in your tutorial. Without doing it the compiled terrain will increase in size by 600K or it will crash.
