Our squadron (Lentolaivue 34) flies mostly Axis planes, but anything goes at MA.
However, the core of our squadron has always (since 1999) been the "War Missions" (
read the rules ) which are reported in each pilot's flight logs.
The idea is to co-operate, get and confirm kills and to stay alive to achieve a long career. The careers are listed on the Squadron Kill Boards ( e.g.
AH Kill Board ) and each pilot name also acts as a link to pilot log. Currently we have 641 reported War Missions in AH, 882 in IL-2/FB/PF, and 1563 in EAW.
One is not required to fly these War Missions, but they are used for determining one's activity and to gain promotions, medals, ribbons, etc. Passive pilots get eventually moved to reserve.
Many of us also enjoy participating in AH Scenarios.
