Not complaining, just wierd.

Soulyss and I were winging tonite and during a brawl with the Bish, he says "I'm fighting an LA7 with no wings!" I've got my film on so I check it later and sure enough here he is. He flew wingless and smoking for five minutes of my film.

We land and go back to the same fight and I dive in on an LA7 and he's got no tail but he's flying just fine.

Thankfully I've got the film rolling cause this is strange. I get the angle on him and I blow his left wing off.

Nothing...no kill message...he just keeps flying, and even stranger he sets up to land.

From the film the gear comes down.

And he lands three kills!

Now it's from two different films. Soulyss and I both saw it, and it's the same guy both times. What's the glitch?

Have you ever check 6, and see a flying Boat 300y back shooting @ you
at 6k alt ?

(this flying boat was HT making jokes to poor lonely pilots.
still waiting for this flying banana).

I know.... this is stupid... fits too well though.

On a serious note, I have noticed some issues with damage lately, which I suspect is due to some sort of server issue.

I've put very large 4 x 20mm bursts into wing-roots and been rewarded with nothing but a fuel leak, if that at all. These hits would usually result in 1 of two things; instant removal of wing or instant explosion of the target.....

No whine.... just noticed this happen a lot a couple of nights ago.

Is it possible that some data is not reaching HT's server? Could that explain what I saw to be catastrophic damage resulting in just a few dings in the paint?

It would seem though, that if two people are receiving that same image that my theory doesn't explain it.

Had it happen to me once but it was a Spitfire Mk XVI. Blew the port wing off and it still was able to fly and fight. Passed it off as a graphical glitch caused by the guy's bad connection. The player in the Spitfire afterwards said that his connection had gone south during that flight.

Ive seen those types of planes every now again for over 3 months. I personnally shot one wing off, and when it was all said and dne. There was nothing left but a flying canopy. The thing couldnt do much cause he had no guns left, I believe the plane was originally a P-51, but I havent seen it in while. I didnt think to record it, but I know there were like 6 people around all taking pot shots of it. Never did find out who the player was.

Maybe HT can look into it with your film. At first its pretty funny, then its very fustrating.

Sent a similar film in one night after 1Duke1 and I observed the same thing in a different plane type. Never heard any response.

You probably never will either ... Dan I hope you are sending that in to HT.

I would have dismissed it as a rendering issue until I saw the screenshot of Dan actually shooting the wing off and the debris flying by and then it continues to fly ... that's beyond weird as far as I am concerned.

You see the plane on your FE, you fire, if your FE says you hit him, you send that info to HTCs server, it says "okay, you got a hit" and then it sends the code to the target saying "okay, you've been hit" and then it sends the code back to the shooter saying "okay, show his wing as popping off"

So, if the server weren't getting the "I shot you" info, you would never have got the "okay, show the wing popping off" info, and you'd see rubber bullets rather than magic flying corpses.
