Now how about much better looking hit sprites?  AH2 inherits the generic hit sprites from AH1:noid

Yes. I've asked this once before no response lol. The damage model is looking very realistic these days. Now all we need is the atmosphere and sun/clouds.:D

The question I have is whether this is just cosmetic, or is this going to actually update the EFFECTS of damage in-flight. IE, instead of control surfaces either being there or not, will they become less effective as they get chewed up? Will having a bunch of holes in the wing affect the amount of lift generated, causing that wing to want to drop?
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Purely cosmetic.

The Damage effects that you mentioned would be nice to have but it will open a can of worms:noid

Yeah, the 30mm ones look sweet IMO. Nice firemelon at point of impact.
Treize (pronounced 'trays')- because 'Treisprezece' is too long and even harder to pronounce.

Cosmetic changes don't make it an updated damage model, then. Damage modeling has nothing to do with how it LOOKS, but how it actually AFFECTS flight performance.
