So what do you do with a kid like this?
« on: August 03, 2007, 09:03:17 AM »
I had some bad landings with the 234 so I was in the training section practicing, took 20 mins to 30 mins making a bomb run, heading back, and really wanted to practice landing. Im IB at 2,000' and 250 mph when this bogey comes up on my tail and starts following me. I specifically told him twice not to shoot cause I was practicing. So what does he do? He starts shooting for about 2 mins until he knocks down a bomber at 2,000' and 250 mph.

When I challenge him on it he goes, "get over it noob", and "I live to shoot down noobs". That kinda thing.

Hes probably about 12yo. So what should we do with "Artie"? A spanking or maybe go to bed without supper? 30 mins of my morning wasted cause of this boy.

Is this kid an exception here?

Agreed.....Practice Offline.

You *do* know the 234 has a rear cannon?  The moment he opened fire, I'd have shown him that cannon.

Nothing to be done with the kid.  Obviously has no self confidence or skills to go up against anyone who does if he hunts in the TA of all places.  Free players have access to TA or not?

I was in TA to practice rocket runs... been a while....in a Jug when I got "jumped" by a Niki.... this was in divebombing setting.  So I run him around a while on the deck, a couple reversals, then dropped all my E (flaps and gear) then watched him flutter trying to stay with me until he lawndarted into a hillside.

Checked the roster, there were two pilots flying like that it seems.

Was you in the TA because if you were HE cant damge you (shoot your bomber down).
They are not supposed to shoot you without asking for permission but I have noticed lately that there are a lot of kids in there not following rules.
If it happens again film your training (ALT-R) and send it to HTC

GL luck on your landings

Yaknow if he did it out of ignorance I'd have no problem with it. Even if he did it out of youth I could live with it. But he was doing it on purpose, told me so, and even told me to "F" myself.

He's 17yo, or so he told me. Most of the guys here are real gentleman, even most of the kids. I think this boy could use his head shaved and 10 weeks with a drill instructor without mommie to clean his room. It worked for me at his age.:D

Yeah I was in the general training area over the big water. He shot at me for about 1 to 2 minutes to no effect but then something happened where he shot my wing off. I know it wasnt me I was 2,000' 250 mph, on auto, trying to messg the kid off me.

Rich what you should of done is film it and report him to HTC. He should not be able to cause damage to you at all in the TA, and your original assesment about his age was correct if he acted like this. He may even physically be 17 but mentally he is 12.

The kiddies need to learn how to read and comprehend, so that they can follow the rules in the TA

First of all, damage is disabled in the TA. So, you CANNOT be shot down. You can, however, auger due to being distracted.

Things you can do about obnoxious TA players:

1. Run film and e-mail the film to HTC.

2. If there is a Trainer in the TA at the time, ask him to intervene. Shooting at anyone without permission is expressly forbidden by the TA rules, which are displayed when you log in and on the MOTD. Deliberately annoying other players will earn you a minimum of a 1 hour expulsion from the arena, or more if the Trainer is sufficiently ticked off.

That is not the solution.  I fail to see the logic of the people replying like this.  It is OK to break the rules because it is my fault for being there?  What kind of logic is that?  If I drive by your home and break your windows is it your fault because you put the house there?  Would you come in here and say that you should have moved in the midle of the desert if you did not want that to happen and that it is OK for me to do so? :huh

I have the same problems in the DA with the guys upping a 262 from the next field.  I guess that is my fault and I should set up my own H2H server.  He should be allowed to continue doing the 262 runs.

Regardless of punks in the TA, the solution is a valid one. If he wants to practice landing the AR234, and nothing else (just landing the Ar234), then offline is the best solution. No outside distractions or problems. If he has a question then he can go to the TA and look for help.

But, if he just wants to land, nothing else. Offline is a good suggestion.
