Some night fighters would be fun.

Mosquito NF Mk 30: High-alititude night-fighter version. Powered by two 1,710-hp (1275-kW) Roll-Royce Merlin 76 piston engines. It also carried early ECM equipment. 526 built.

Ju 88G-6 1750 PS Jumo 213A inline-V12 engines, enlarged fuel tanks and often one or two MG 151/20 cannons in a Schräge Musik installation

many Japanese ones Ki 45 and J1N to name a couple

and of course the P-61 Black Widow

didn't really do my research but like to hear your thoughts

we have a 110, all we need is just add night radar, fixed upward firing cannons and we're good to go. :aok

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

In some cases night fighters were used in daytime also. It's an excuse for a plane with a massive amount of firepower in the nose, but generally reduced performance capabilities.

Even if we didn't have night, I think the following would be "fun" to see in-game:

Ju88C/G
He219
Beafighter
Ki46
110G w/ schrage muzik

Interestingly, all are twins, but that's just a coincidence.

Mosquito 30s saw quite a bit of daylight service too.

I wonder if they took the time to remodel it as well? Don't new aircraft usually coincide with remodeled aircraft? B-25 and Mossie at same time, perhaps?

Hmmmm...let me think...YES!!!

Seriously if you can't avoid a N00B HO, and turn around and club them like a baby seal, then F***ing why do you play this game?

Yep.  All about the number of guns.  The lower performance numbers of night fighters, when compared to other fighters, all means very little to most night fighter advocates, since they are going to barrel straight in on you, gunz-a-blazin'.

Of course, some others see them as bomber destroyers as well..... but if jumped, their best option will be to HO.

And yet the 110G, relegated to the lowest job of all in the war, bomber destroyer, is quite nimble and one of the more lethal dogfighting planes in this game.

Not saying it's a spitfire, but with guns like that you don't need to ho, and you only need ONE shot.
