Why take the most popular areana and auto size it down to support less than those that want to play in there? Sorry, but if I have people in LW blue I'd like to play with I'm not going to be forced to play somewhere else just to play. Why does the areana fluctuate in the first place? I haven't read the previous post on the current system but at times some of this crap really pisses me off. I really enjoy the fact that I'll go into an areana at say 2am Texas time and I cannot fly my ENY 15 plane in there. Aren't you supposed to improve the product to please the customer not inhibit them? Are there really a whole bunch of people jumping up and down saying "oh thank you, oh thank you for this wonderful current system"... cause I'm just not seeing it.
EW and MW arenas caps are set where they are because they NEVER reach those kind of numbers so don't run into the problem LW arenas do. HTC has decreed, the over population in the LW arena was killing the community and the solution they came up with is to cap the arena, and add an "over flow" arena. The problem with that was with 500 people on line, one arena was maxed out at 450, and the second one had 50. The second arena was very boring due to the low numbers.... much like the EW and MW arenas are now
So to force the arena population to increase and decrease more evenly HTC set it up so that as "Org" closes in on it cap, more space is opened in "Blu", and as "Blu" closes in on its cap, "Org" cap increases.
By using this system, using the exsample above, in stead of 50 people pissing and moaning to HTC he only has a few pissing and moaning about not being able to get in with their squad. So from HTC point of view, the plan is working, ie: less complaints.
