I wonder if he'll bring back the foodlines and empty stores, too?

Its just foolish.  But by all means, let's see their 3rd rate aircraft fly these long, long missions.  And perhaps we can all pretend its the 60s again.

I welcome a "new" superpower. We need a balance that is not present at the moment.

Seems kind of strange the events of  this summer.  Claiming the North Pole and all these planes being intercepted.  Perhaps we need to shoot one down to get their attention.

LOL! I think it would blow the budget if we fired our only missle.

sweet... life is always easier when you have a defined enemy such as another country rather than chasing 'terrorists' who can run around from country to country

allow me to play devil's advocate here.  I believe many here want to return to the relative stability of mutually assured destruction as well.  I'm somewhat surprised that another roosevelt hasn't arisen from the bowels of the democratic party to help with our return to that simpler era.

Indy007, there had been some Tornado's scrambled to intercept the 'Bears' a few weeks ago as well.

For me, Russia's recent stance hasn't really bothered me.  Putin seems fairly popular with the younger Russian generation and I guess it's his way on evoking some pride back into the nation.  He has to appear strong.  Afterall if it was any other nation they'd also be doing the same under the same circumstances and if they had the resources to do so. Perhaps some countries have been somewhat naïve in thinking that they can do whatever they like without any repercussion.

Nice picture though...

They would have to have a Roosevelt to put in there, first.

If you look at the current makeup of the Democratic party, I don't think you'll find anyone even remotely similiar.

I believe that really would only apply if the russians were able to maintain control over their subject states as they used to do.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

I read that. Some Tornado F3's were doing intercepts, but this was the first one done by a Typhoon. I think it's a pretty sweet fighter. It's not a Raptor, but still pretty sweet.
