One little plink and the b24 is toast.  Not that hard to aim with either.  This could be a little bit of a strange bird in the sky.  How much air to air was done with a 75mm?  Eminently possible in here.

Don't recall any stories of any fighters being shot down in the air from a B-25's 75mm cannon.  Probably strafed countless parked on the ground but in the air...zilch.

I'm curious... Did you actually land a hit on a B24?

From what range?

What speed?

Was he even looking back?

Seems to me the B25 isn't any faster than the B24, and to hit reliably you'd need to be close (dangerously close, with all those defensive gun turrets on the -24s)

yep offline.  Also carrier take offs are pretty easy too (with the C).

With some practice I think you could reasonably hit from about 1.5 maybe 2k out depending on the size of the target.

I hit at about 800-400 depending on my luck.

Just a little offline practice has convinced me to try deacking with it.  It seems to hit right in the crosshairs at a decent range.

Of course, I don't expect that big target to last long close to the field.

In tests the USAAF concluded that the 57mm Molins gun as superior to the 75mm on the B-25 due to the autoloader allowing firing under G loading.  The 75mm could not be operated in anything other than level, non-manuvering flight.

In short, none.

The automatic 57mm Mollings got a total of one kill that I know of.

I was in a FFA h2h room, and took up the 25H, and found me a Firefly on the ground. I started shooting at him from about 2.5k out until about 800. I couldn't hit him, but I could see that I was able to knock out of his tracks then another one. Later I got some hits on him, but they just bounced off. It sure was fun though.

"deacking"

Yes, I second that. The explosive radius is such that, if you miss a little, you can easily take out ground guns before you are within their range. But the trajectory is such that you shouldn't miss. On the "pizza" map, where you have ground bases some distance away from enemy airfields, this is going to oust the 110G as the default strafer. The one problem I have found observed is that, in a dive, it builds up speed easily, sheds its rudders, and continues to dive straight into the ground. And it is a big target for ack. But a tough target.

I can imagine people sitting 1.7k behind a formation of B-24s, blasting them one after the other, laughing. It reminds me of the 37mm in IL2's 110G, although it is much easier to aim and use.

Doubt it. It's not going to be much of a HO threat, unless you use the 50cals.

Even then, 8x 50cal are on the P47 as well, and it's probably more capable of surviving the HO (pilot is hidden behind a massive bullet proof engine) than the B-25 is (pilot hidden behind thin greenhouse canopy)

Out of curiosity, what's the difference between it being available in Attack mode and not?  I actually am not sure I understand the technical difference between the two.
