The one place in the world I'd visit (outside the stuff in the US I've not seen) is the British Isles--could give a crap about London, as all cities are quite similar, but the countryside is some of the most beautiful I've ever seen, and so many things (stone walls, cottages, etc---) have been there longer than my country has been in existence

Been there many times, and flown over as well, low and in clear weather.
Beautiful, - but so are Wales and the Lake district, and more and more part of the British isles.
Edinburgh is great, the countryside is great in the Highlands, and the true whisky,,,,yeahhh!
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

My local pub was built in 1689. :D

I guess I'm lucky where I live - right next to the Peak District and the Pennines (England). But you take it for granted after awhile I guess.

By the way, if you ever get the chance, go see Hadrian's wall. You'll see some pretty old stuff there. ;) I was camping up there this last weekend.

all of em?

Fact is tho... I have never pretended to be an expert on scotland or it's politics.

I don't even go on scottish BB and tell em what is wrong with their country.

I spent a week driving around the place and had fun.  Wouldn't want to live there.

My grandfather was born there.  I took most of what he said with a grain of salt but... he did live there and all his ancestors did and..  he was right about single malt and the weather there.

And... judging by what you post.. I would say that you learned nothing at all about America or Americans... I don't know how that is possible but it seems that you weren't paying attention.

Curval,

What statements have I made that hurt you so deeply and personally?

Please quote.

Thank you.
