F.T.MCINERNEY to be more precise



14 years I've been in this Mickey Mouse Canoe Club and never have I worked in a worse place than this. It's gotten to the point that people are volunteering for billets in Iraq just to get off this ship. People would rather go to a war zone than work here. LOL!

With the current working conditions, level of morale, and general BS changes the Navy has made in the past 2 years. I'm about ready to throw away the last 14 years and just call it quits.

Yup..on USS MCINERNEY FFG-8  A.K.A "The Ocho"

FFG's are about useless....we only do Counter Narcotics stuff these days since they took our only decent weapon system away. The MK-13 Missile launcher.

Currently on F-2-1 Pier.

at least you guys get to do narcotics interdiction.  all we got to do was nothing.  :D  I hated jimmy carter. what a wusstard president to have as CinC.  the Bigelow was a frequent pier F boat.  is the armadillo still in business on jax beach?

Don't know about the armadillo..I actually grew up in Orange Park/Middleburg, and spend most of my off time over there. It's a Looong drive back and forth, but worth it to live outside the city limits (better schools there too)

BTW..My last ship USS LABOON out of Norfolk, was part of the gun line that sunk the Bigelow as a target in 2003.

Heheh, It was FTG in the Coast Guard. I remember the bidding war for one of the Navy's Fleet Training Group covers when we went to SanDiego for Reftra. (It went for $400):)

Seriously, if you are not happy with the Navy, look at joining the Coast Guard. Smaller service, more rapid advancement and you are always doing something. SAR, Law Enforcement or Aid to Navigation. (They are in Iraq, too.)
