Putin Grow Up........
British air force Tornado fighters were reported Thursday to have intercepted eight Russian bombers as they approached UK airspace.
Four F3 fighters were scrambled from Leeming airbase in Yorkshire, northern England and the Russian planes diverted before entering British territory, according to Sky News.
There was no immediate confirmation from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in London, but the Russian planes were reportedly Bear Tupolev-95 planes, which can carry nuclear and Cruise missiles.
The incident comes after Britain's new Eurofighter Typhoons were scrambled last month to shadow a Russian bomber heading for the UK, which was revealed by the MoD. A similar incident was also reported to have occurred in July.
The interventions coincide with Britain recently announcing that it had agreed to a US request for Menwith Hill monitoring station in Yorkshire to be used as part of its controversial missile defence system, which Russia has opposed.
It also comes as bilateral relations have deteriorated over over Russia's refusal to extradite a former agent, which Britain wants to put on trial, accused of poisoning dissident Alexander Litvinenko in London last November.
The dispute led to deportation of four Russian diplomats that was countered by a tit-for-tat move by Moscow ordering out four British diplomats.
Sorta worrying even though it could be considered trivial.
