Without 88 adding more liberalisms I'm having trouble keeping traction in this thread.

Go to the bone yard. If your lucky you can find the same make model color and power options. Then just pay to have it installed. If not get the same make model. Have a shop swap guts and paint the door.

Accidents happen thats why there not call purposes.  ;)

As long as you plan on fixing your accident why should there be a problem?

only major difficulty is remote location.  i am nowhere near an urban center....which sucks.

Whats easier and cheaper.
Unbolt door, remove guts, cut spot welds, grind spot welds flush, weld on new panel, prime, sand, paint bolt on new mirror/with old guts and finally bolt on repaired door.

Buy used door with mirror, scuff, paint to match, swap needed guts, unbolt old door, bolt on painted used door.

A straight bone yard door with same guts is the cheapest way to go.:)

liberal is a profane word and being a liberal is abhorrant behavior, the cause of all of our current societal ills.

i am missing the problem here.

take it to a body shop, you pay the insurance deductible, also pay for her rental car if needed.

it's been a bad year for accidents with this vehicle...none of which have been our fault...a concern would be that insurance rates might climb,

also, it is debatable whether or not i am covered.

we ran into that problem last time.

this being the case, it might be better to just fix it and forget it.
