Spent the weekend in Cajamarca, Peru. This is a tasty dish!
Off to the Yanacocha gold mine tomorrow. Will have to post some other pics from the weekend as well.

Cleaned as much as I could...

Just a thought...how many rat farms have yall heard about? Which brings up another question, what was this ginormous rat eating before the cook killed it and cooked it?

Man that looks like some good Cavia porcellus frito.:)   Nice white meat high in protein and low in fat and cholesterol.  Does the Guinea pig taste like rabbit or chicken?  It looks pretty darn good.

"Cuy" is very tasty! Have eaten it several times during trips to Peru. Peru has some of the finest food in South America. It's kind of a cross between rabbit and squirrel, but raised domestic. I'd take it over rabbit any day. The skin is good and crunchy.

That drink is Inca Cola and a little like cream soda.

Well gotta hit the road. Off to Yanacocha, Pacasmayo, Trujillo, and then Lima.

Good lord.

I've been up since about 4.00am suffering from what I think is food poisoning.

Congrats...this thread made me hurl again.

I have had rabbit in Germany....pretty good.

My grandparents ate squirrel (in chili) back in Mississippi....squirrel...the OTHER white meat.

Cuy...I'd have to try it before balking at it....I'd like to have to tobasco sauce on the side just in case.

Have a great trip...hope the altitude doesn't make you "gassy".  :O

Working with instrumentation and control systems. This is probably somewhere between 12 to 15 times in Peru.
